Schönbuch Nature Park is an almost completely wooded area to the south-west of Stuttgart. Its easily accessible location makes it an important recreational area in this region. Its core area was designated the first nature park in Baden-Württemberg back in 1972. The highest peak in Schönbuch is the Bromberg. Due to its species-rich and idyllic forest areas, the nature park was awarded the title of Forest Area of the Year in 2014.
