The circular route begins at the parish church of St Wendelins inn Kirmutscheid, which was built in the 13th century. The trail leads along the Wirftbach stream past Witt and the Dreimüllerhof farm in the direction of Barweiler Mühle. The ascent up to the pilgrimage site of Barweiler begins through mixed and fir forests.
