Best river trails in Üdersdorf

The motto of this route is water and rocks. This is impressively fulfilled along the entire route. The basalt boulders of the Löhley on one side and the refreshing mineral water in the Liesertal on the other are hallmarks of the region's volcanic past. The boulders in particular give an idea of the forces that must have clashed in the battle between fire and water. The Liesertal, on the other hand, is wildly romantic throughout.

A varied loop in the Volcanic Eifel, which connects Üdersdorf, Tettscheid and Brockscheid and is marked with the "DW" hiking sign. It leads through forests, across idyllic meadows and fields, along reservoirs and across the Lieser, a tributary of the Moselle. If you wish, you can combine the route with the HeimatSpur water and rock trail.

To the east of Üdersdorf, you start the hike on the Lieserpfad, which runs parallel to the Lieser, which you cross a few times along the way. Right at the start of the route, you have the option of taking a small detour to the Tellerley viewpoint, which looks out over the Udersdorf lava quarry. If you continue along the route, you will eventually reach the Lieserblick and the Geisenburg ruins. Then follow the Lieserpfad back to the starting point.
