Best backpacking trails in Klingenmünster

This route follows stage 9 of the Palatinate Wine Trail, a long-distance trail starting in Annweiler and ending in Klingenmünster. The path climbs toward Trifels Castle and passes the Barbarossa inn and the Fensterfelsen rock formations. It descends steeply before ascending through chestnut forests to the Neukastell Castle ruins, then continues through Leinsweiler and Eschbach up to the Madenburg Castle ruins. 2nd stage of the chapel pilgrimage route, North Rhine-Westphalia. This stage leads from Klingenmünster via Karlsplatz past the Peace Chapel in Birkenhördt, past the Cramerhaus at Lindelbrunn to Vorderweidenthal. On this stage, the route leaves the Rebenmeer and enters the Palatinate Forest - a perfect place for forest bathing. The route climbs a good way up to the 487 metre high Abtskopf.
