Stage 2 of the long-distance hiking trail "Druidensteig", Rhineland-Palatinate. The second stage of the Druidensteig quality trail starts in Herdorf and ends after around 13 kilometres in Daaden. This route starts in Herdorf and explores the hills and forests to the south of the town. It is a pleasant hike that offers some views of the area. It is well suited for trail running or an easy hike. It first leads past the Igelshahnspitze. It then crosses the road, crosses the Sottersbachtal valley and the Malscheid nature reserve (but not near the lake) and then returns.

This hike starts at Sassenroth railway station. It leads through the hilly forests to the Hohenseelbachskopf, where the building and restaurant are located. On the way there (and back) you pass the Kahlen-Berg. There are a few places with good views, but most of the hike is through the forest.
