Starting in the small village of Eußerthal, this route leads through the Palatinate Forest and over high hills and the picturesque villages of Gräfenhausen and Annweiler. It ends just before Trifels Castle, an impressive red sandstone castle dating back to the 11th century.

The short circular trail starts at the Steigstraße hiking car park, which is located around 3 km before Taubensuhl and can be recognised by a hiking sign. After a short stretch along the country road, the route follows the deer trail to a crossroads, where it turns right and finally leads back to the starting point via secluded forest paths.
