Best historic site trails in Hünxe

Loop in North Rhine-Westphalia. The hike starts at the Lanter hiking car park and mostly leads through forests. From time to time it goes over sunny dirt roads. As the tour crosses the highway twice, this is not an entirely peaceful walk. With a bit of luck you can spot a deer or two in the meadows.

Beautiful Loop in the Hohe Mark Nature Park, North Rhine-Westphalia. You start at the Gartrop Castle car park. First you follow the main road and then turn left in the direction of Lippe. After a short stretch through the forest, it then goes over the Wesel-Datteln Canal. You hike back through the forest, always walking parallel to the canal.

Varied circular hiking trail around Gartrop Castle A trip to Gartrop Castle is definitely worthwhile. The impressive grounds of the moated castle consist of a baroque manor house, a watermill, an artisan fountain and a beautiful garden, all surrounded by moats. From the Garttrop Castle car park (bus stop next door), the circular route first leads to the castle grounds. The route continues along the sunny and far-sighted Bühler Feldweg. Back via Bühl, a gentle climb through a wooded area...

This circuit follows exactly the eastern section of the Three Rivers Tour. It is one of the most beautiful parts of the 143 km long main route, which is divided into three circuits. Raesfeld Castle with its zoo is one of the highlights. The route is very close to nature, always with a view of fields and meadows.
