Best lake trails in Wismar

Picturesque and idyllic circular hike near Wismar in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This idyllic circular walk leads through the Wallensteingraben, a nature reserve right in Wismar. It circles the Mühlenteich pond and passes the Jungfernteich pond. On one side of the lake is the town of Wismar, on the other is the allotment site "Hinter dem Mühlenteich". It makes for a fun activity to do when in Wismar, especially as it is the closest beach area and pier. Definitely worth a trip.

This is a route from Wismar to the island of Poel. It is definitely recommended by bike as it is quite a long route. Although this is the suggested route once you are on Poel, it is certainly not the only way to go. However, you can see a lot of the island on this route. Worth mentioning is the Fauler See - Rustwerder nature reserve at the southern tip of the island.

Tour from Wismar to Wiligrad along Lake Schwerin A beautiful tour that runs a lot along the water. It starts in Wismar, in the town centre, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From here, you cycle past the Wismar-Kluß pond area on small roads to hohen Viecheln, where you reach the Stör waterway of Lake Schwerin. Along the way, there are always small viewpoints from which you can enjoy a great view over the lake. Finally, the cycle tour reaches Wiligrad Castle, which is also worth a visit.
