This stage leads from the beautiful town of Königssee along the legendary toboggan run up to the Grünsteinhütte at 1,196m. Most of the time you hike through sparse mixed mountain forest until it clears and reveals a view of the Königssee and the impressive Watzmann. Passing the Hammerstiel tavern, it then descends into the almost lovely Engedey.
