Best wildflower trails in Riedenburg

This route follows stage 13, the final leg of the certified "Jurasteig" premium trail, connecting Riedenburg back to the starting point in Kelheim. The official circular hike of the "Bayerns Herzstück" tourism association leads mainly along paths and hiking trails from Riedenburg through Emmerthal to Teufelsfelsen, from where you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Altmühltal. A mountain bike tour on which you can get to know and enjoy all the viewpoints in Riedenburg. The start and end point is the Schwammerl inn in Mühlstraße. You can enjoy the view over the Schambach valley and the Kreuzfelsen rocks, at Prunn Castle the view to Riedenburg and Rosenburg Castle, at Falkenhorst the view over the large Altmühltal loop and the Rosskopf view to Eggersberg Castle.

The varied tour starts in the historic town centre. If you wish, you can also take a detour from here to Rosenburg Castle. Following the hiking sign (black 2 on a yellow background), you walk past the Riedenburg herd of red cattle, across fields and through forests to the Klausenkapelle chapel. You return to the starting point through the Schambach valley.
