Panoramic circular hiking trail in the Spessart The European Cultural Trail is dedicated to a section of the Lower Bunter Sandstone, which has been quarried in the glassmaking village of Heigenbrücken since the 19th century. The hiking sign is a yellow EU ship on a blue background. There are places to stop for refreshments. Accessible by bus and train. The route starts at the church, but can also be started from the railway station.

This trail travels from Heigenbrücken to Bad Orb through the heart of the Spessart Nature Park. The path follows the historic Eselsweg, an ancient route once used for transporting salt. One can stroll under the shade of massive oaks and beeches or across traditional meadow orchards. With a bit of luck, black woodpeckers or wildcats can be spotted.
