Best long trails in Gräfendorf

Beautiful circular route in the Bavarian Rhön. The highlight of the hike is the idyllic Trettstein waterfall, whose mini-climate provides a little bit of coolness on hot summer days. But it's also worth a visit in winter when the icicles grow here. The trail starts at the small car park very close to Gräfendorf railway station on the Franconian Saale. A wonderful hike in the romantic Schondratal nature reserve. The official route of the Gräfendorf 1 local hiking trail starts near the old paper mill. If you wish, you can change banks at several points along the small footbridges and thus customise the hike. The trail leads over forest and meadow ground, gravel and in places tarmac.
