From the town square, the route heads south to Hermannsau. Continue via Ochsenberg, "Maria Traum", Geyersberg and Merterberg and Solla back to Freyung. The hiking sign is a white 6 in a red circle.

From the Freyung town square, the route leads via the villages of Schönbrunn and Pittersberg to the Langholz forest. The route continues to the Ochsenberg field and the village of Winklbrunn.
