From Zell am Harmersbach, the route goes via Biberach to Schönberg (the busy B415 is only used for about 500 metres). From there, a detour to Hohengeroldseck Castle is recommended. The route continues via Reichenbach along the Schutter to Lahr. After Lahr, you cycle through the vineyards with beautiful views over the Rhine Valley to Zunsweier and then through the Kinzig Valley back to Zell.

From there the road leads to Roth and finally into the forest at the Schwedenkreuz. First the Schwarzenbachsattel is reached and from there it goes to the Brandenkopf. You can take a break and eat something in the local mountain restaurant before heading back to the starting point. It is advisable to obtain information about the opening times in advance.
