Popular loop trail in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, Baden-Wuerttemberg. This is a beautiful hike that leads from the Schiltach through the romantic hilly landscape of the southern Black Forest to the ruins of Waldau Castle. There are several inns near the route that invite you to stop for refreshments in a rustic atmosphere (see waypoints on the map). Highlights of the hike: - Ruins of Waldau Castle (13th century) - Glasbach - Schiltach

The route runs through the forest for long stretches with some beautiful viewpoints. There are two longer climbs from Kinzigtal to Adelsberg and from the Naturfreundehaus to the hamlet of Brandsteig. Steep descent to Schramberg. Alpirsbach also has a very interesting town centre and there are some historical highlights along the way, such as the remains of a Roman control station.
