Best forest trails in Freudenberg

The path leads up to the old Schützenhaus, along the Tannenbuckel, over the Schleusensteg and the Mainbrücke bridge.

The trail leads via Dürrhof, Fichtenfeldhütte, Turm and Hoi-Hopp-Stein. There are refreshment stops along the way.

From the Mainanlage, the route follows the Viehweg to the Kreuzschleife, past the Seebrünnle and the Freudenburg and back to the starting point via the Main Valley cycle path. The hiking sign is a white "1" with an "F" in a circle.

This is a short route between Wessental and Rauenberg. It leads through the woods around Mühltalstraße and also follows the torrent. It can be started anywhere along the path. It also passes the cemetery. As it is relatively short, it is ideal for jogging or walking the dog.

From the Dürrhof, the route leads across the farmland to the Grenzweg and back again via the refuge on the Viehweg.

This is a short route that starts in the village of Boxtal, which lies in the Wildebach valley. It makes a short loop through the forest to the south and east of the town. Once in the forest, it heads south along the Dorlesweg. Eventually you come to the Boxtal Philosophers' Trail. It makes a sharp turn and then follows this path back into the town.

From the Mainanlage, the route leads along the Viehweg, past the Mautersbrunnen, the Stundenstein, the refuge and via the Spartakusweg back to the Main valley

This route starts in the village of Ebenheid. It leads northwards and into the forest. Once in the forest, it uses the Rankweg, a short path that borders the Bavarian Odenwald Nature Park. (Although this path is NOT in the park). It makes a loop and on the way back you pass the Flaschdarre Ebenheid.
