Did Snowden a few years ago via the Pyg track. We didnt start at the information centre though we started as low down the valley as we possibly could. A great tarn to sooth your feet in half way up the mountain and although not a massive fan of there being a Cafe at the top of a mountain, it was good to get a scone and a lemonade :-)

We tried twice to hike Snowdon but due to weather conditions and closed roads from both sides of the mountain we were unable to. This was the perfect alternative given the lateness in the day. The views are gorgeous and you get to see a little bit of everything on this easy-to-moderate hike. I recommend going counterclockwise once you reach the lake. The climb going up the mountain (especially in the rain) is much easier because of the steepness of the rocks, whereas I imagine that if you were trying to go down the rocks on that side it would be much more treacherous. Going down the mountain counterclockwise was very easy as there was more gravel and a smoother path. As a bonus, there is a small welcome center, bathrooms, and a little cafe at the parking lot where we warmed up with some hot chocolate after the hike.

Great walk with equally great views (if you're lucky and it's not too cloudy). Some steep sections without much of a path but in general quite a comfortable route. Make sure you bring layers as will get much colder the higher you climb.

Good trail just don’t make the mistake we made and go down the hard scramble face without ropes!!

Nothing for Weak People steep climb to the old air. Do not underestimate the weather, take warm clothes for the descent. Scenic certainly the top highlight of Wales. Recommend the Cornish Pasty in the restaurant. For £ 27 you could also leave by train.

A brilliant hike and not as challenging as I thought overall considering I'd only walked on even terrain prior to tackling Snowdon. I headed up at 11am mid-week (early October). Reached the summit around 2pm after 2 x 15 min stops. The summit was busy with people arriving by train but still plenty of places to sit and admire the spectacular views. It took 1hr.25mins to get down. The first 40 mins down being the hardest due to the steepness and large boulder paths. Definitely recommend anyone giving this a go!

I visited in August during the hot days and even though the bottom was warm, the top is still very cool. Make sure to pack extra layers even in summer months. I would also recommend an early start to allow yourself time to stop and admire the many amazing views. Take plenty of water that you can carry as it’s very thirsty work. Both some easier and harder tracks to follow I’d say these were in the middle and most people could handle it but definitely still a challenge. I’d recommend doing this route on a clear day so you can see the view from the top of the summit, it’s quite spectacular. There is a cafe at the top if you need refreshments and to re-fuel and a train if you can’t hack the route down although it’s a lot easier than the way up in my opinion. I did see a lot of dogs but personally I didn’t like seeing most of them suffering the difficult terrain and in the heat. Overall an incredible and rewarding experience.

Did this walk with my wife on a perfect day weather wise except for a strong wind. My wife is 66 and I am 68 and we got to the top in 3.5 hours. It took us a similar time to get down again. This was a difficult walk for us and we were exhausted when we got back. The path is so rocky that it would be easy to turn your ankle and game over. Would recommend walking boots rather than shoes. We are glad we did it but would not do it again.

Nice quiet route up to the summit. Only saw a handful of people on the way up. Excellent views looking back west toward Rhyd-Ddu. Very crowded at the top but it was a weekend and various events on. Fantastic views at the top when it's clear.
