I did this route once for sunset and a few weeks later for sun rise, the views of the lakes early hours in the morning are phenomenal just as the sun is starting to rise. It was just as busy at 4am in the morning as it was at 7pm at night, I find the ascent a lot easier than the long winded Llanberis ( the easier route ) but if the weather is bad during the slight scramble it can have its typical dangers.

Very easy path before the climbing, with very nice views on the lakes and mountains. However, the path is so easy that it is really a sunday-walk, totally crowded. Easy path ends in a more difficult session with a bit of rock climbing to the summit. Be prepared to be stopped by non-prepared people. Still beautiful but mount Snowdon is too touristic for me. We did it in november so we expected a bit less people. I wouldn’t recommend to do it in summertime. Pro-tip: Parking at the start of this walk is quite a nightmare, small and expensive parking (£10 for the day).

Nothing for Weak People steep climb to the old air. Do not underestimate the weather, take warm clothes for the descent. Scenic certainly the top highlight of Wales. Recommend the Cornish Pasty in the restaurant. For £ 27 you could also leave by train.

Beautiful walk to start with, with some stunning views. As soon as we started on the second ascent, it soon became incredibly steep and with lots of loose rocks, narrow to non-existent footpaths and wet mud, it really wasn’t much fun. Had to leave the hill about 2/3 up, as the paths disappear and you’re left with 30 metres are purely huge large rocks that you could only climb over on all fours. Both me and my partner felt it was too dangerous and felt quite disappointed to have come so far. Wouldn’t rate this as a moderate walk- I think a lot of people would struggle. Purely for the steepness of the hill and lack of footpaths, I wouldn’t recommend this for pets, the elderly or children.

We researched many reviews before deciding on taking this one to the summit as we had dogs with us. I would NOT recommend taking dogs up this route as although the initial miners trial from Pen Y Pass is very flat and easy the climb up to the Pyg Track is treacherous, nearly vertical at times, very rocky and difficult on your own let alone with a dog, it actually gets a little easier again on the Pyg Track up to where it then meets the final easy Llanberis pass route to the top . We decided to come back down the Llanberis route which although long is a much easier route for the dogs and certainly young walkers. If on my own I would do the Miners route again but it is certainly not a moderate route in my view.

It’s fine. Varied landscapes, a lot paved, which is not great for a hikers knees. If biking, you’ll need something more robust than a road bike.

nice and peaceful walk, with beautiful scene and nature. worth it doing it. I will classied it as easy, instead of moderate

Helpful signs throughout trail. Did it on mountain bike but the trail is a gravely path the majority of the way round. The uphill section is a little bit of a slog but absolutely no technical difficulty on any of the section. The road section has a cycle/walk path all the way along.

Great trail, with varied scenery and a great bridge across the reservoir. A gentle gradient throughout and a few places to stop for snacks if you’re not a well-prepared walker. Really enjoyed it and I’ll be taking family back with me next time.

Fantastic walk, we did the Caer Gribin first, the Hill fort second followed by Yr Eifl....every time you get to a higher peak the reward gets better and the ascent is a little more gradual. The ascent up Yr Eifl is demanding with some rocky parts, but the views on a clear day are worth the effort.

An amazing and really enjoyable walk. Massively varied from walking on a wooden bridge across the reservoir to getting up close and personal to a disused nuclear power plant oh and a 300 meter drop over a damn.

Did this trail summer 2018 but not this exact trail. Because of parking at Pen y pass, parked at Watkins and took the bus to Pen y pass to hike Miners up to the summit, Rhyd ddu part way down and connect to Watkins for a final pass by the waterfall. This allowed us to catch the lakes on miners and the falls on watkins with new views the entire way. A fairly difficult hike at spots, but well worth the rewards. Really thankful for that beer at the summit.

Fantastic walk and the views are just incredible, id advise anyone to get out there. We did this particular walk in reverse but this is not a 'moderate' hike as suggested. This is steep and exceptionally rocky. You need to scramble and I was cursing whomever said it was 'moderate' whilst carrying my dog down a rock face on the brink of falling 500 odd ft. Yr Eifl is a must, but it's not dog friendly.

i would recommend this trail if you have good physical condition with strong knees as on its half way, lots of climbing off trail to meet up pyg trail people. I rated as this track with the most stunning view while going up to Summit. i picked up Llanberries going down, the view was less exciting than Miners track. Strongly recommend to going up by this track.
