Nice walk up to Moel Famau from the Forestry Commission car park. Good path with one steep section as you approach the top. It can get quite windy at the top but generally has good visibility. You can descend via the upper car park and a newish path that runs alongside the road. Car park fee is £1. If you go clockwise you will have the best views on the way up, and a quieter undulating easier path down through the forest.Show more

This trail takes you through the beautiful countryside of the Dee Valley. There is the medieval castle of Dinas Bran (built c1260), industrial heritage museums and the tranquil rural religious delight of Llantysilio church. The route follows the River Dee past the Horseshoe Falls to Llantysilio Church. It then heads uphill to Valle Crucis Abbey and then to Castell Dinas Brân before heading back down to the river. Some of the walk has steep paths and stiles. For a change of pace, Llangollen also has a white-water rafting centre https://www.whitewateractive.co.uk Llangollen is most well-known for the international Musical Eisteddfod held every July, and the Food Festival in October.
