I did this hike last Saturday (8/11) with two of my friends, and it was a relatively easy trek.

We started our hike around 4 pm and arrived back at the trailhead around 6 pm.

This hike was decently busy on a Saturday afternoon, but most people (families and those not properly dressed for a hike) only made it up up to the Grand Prismatic Spring overlook and then headed back. We continued onward to Fairy Falls, which was well worth it!

The hike itself, was a walk in the park (all pun intended). The only elevation gain takes place on the short jaunt up to the overlook. After that, it is pretty much all even ground for the rest of the 1.5 miles to the falls. We made it from the trailhead to the falls (2.5 miles) in just about an hour; moving at a decently steady pace.

I primarily chose this hike because it was one of the longer ones in the park that included a water feature. It was also a great way to escape the crowds, as we had the falls completely to ourselves for at least 20 minutes.

Great hike for all ages and experience levels!
