We did the loop to include observation point.
Great views from the top and we spent a long time just enjoying the outlook area. We climbed down to the falls which were nice. We went down river from the falls and soaked our feet in the river while we enjoyed the morning sun. A nice hike but can get steep at times. The trail is not well maintained on the observation climb with loose gravel and some slippery spots this should be a moderate level hike.
Overall a nice hike with falls and views

Very easy hike. Flat ground, very few rocks. Did the overlook, then the walk to the falls. Came across very few people, maybe 10 small groups, even in the busy month of July.

It's a great view to see the grand prism from this trail, and it's very easy.

The grand Grand Prismatic Spring is certainly one of the most deserve to see in the Yellowstone. However, It's too large to see the whole prism besides it. I suggest to hike both this trail and the other trail going to the mountain besides the prism and see it from above.

We went late afternoon. Had mostly blue sky with a few clouds. The view of Grand Prismatic was spectacular! I chose to hike this late afternoon based on another review. Apparently with the cooler morning air, there can be more steam coming off the pool obscuring the view. The wind also seems to affect the steam coming off the pool, based on my observation when we were on the boardwalk at Grand Prismatic. Nevertheless, we were rewarded with a perfect view from above this day!

I actually love the crater spring just below this one. Prismatic is beautiful by plane and photo but you really can't see it from the boardwalk well because it's so flat.

Worth the hike to see the falls.

This is an easy hike for children with a stunning waterfall at the end. You might encounter animals along the path, keep your distance and leave them be. Very flat so no worries about terrain.

Stunningly beautiful!

Easy hike to a great view from the brand new viewing platform. Didn’t have time to explore Fairy Falls with our 5 and 10 yo’s and their 70+ grandmother, but will in the future.

Not much to see on the way but the view at the end of the trail is worth it.

Very fun and beautiful and well worth the visit. The only downside was how crowded it was. I travel with a four year old and the crowd was somewhat difficult at times to move through.
Plus side the pathway is kid friendly.

Great for kids!

Great easy hike. Plenty of people on trail, so safe to go solo and not worry about wildlife (still be bear aware!) be prepared for tons of people at the top

This is a really easy trail meant for all skill levels. Wish it was a little longer. The view at the top is totally worth it though.

Great views, but not so much a trail or hike... more of a park and shoot type of experience. Really really crowded but that comes with it being very accessible. We were there on a really cold and windy day. I would love to go back in the Winter and maybe do a hike above it.

only recommend going if it is a clear day, we were disappointed we couldn't see color of spring and wished we had passed.

Nice easy trail with several views but noticed some people not paying attention and nearly pushed some people off the boardwalk. Crowded so go early.

The hike is not entertaining nor scenic, but the waterfall at the end is definitely beautiful. The trail is very flat so most likely accessible to many. In addition it is open to the sun and can be very hot.

Despite being hailed and snowed on while hiking this in late May, we enjoyed the hike and the falls. Very nice trail. We didn't do the loop, just hiked the one or two switchbacks up to a more level view of the top of the falls, and then went back they way we came.

It is an easy hike with nice views. I would highly suggest you to do round trip hike. Early in the season you can see nice wild flowers.

About the easiest hike you can do a beautiful waterfall. We also saw a bison on the trail minding its own business but please have the common sense to respect wildlife’s privacy and keep safe distances. We waited till the bison headed back into the woods before starting out again.

Turns into a great hike once past the overlook. Wish i had more time here.

Amazing

Colors from the spring are amazing!

It is closer to Moderate but only because all the elevation is in the last 400 yards. The overlook provides a beautiful look of the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring that needs to be seen from the air to really appreciate it. Several buffalo along side the flat part of trail- remember just because you are on path doesn’t mean you should ignore safety distances!

Looking out across to the Grand Prismatic is one thing but taking the short hike to see it topside is a must do. One of my favorite geysers at Yellowstone!

This was such a fun little hike! My grandpa and I only saw maybe 4 people and the fall at the end was so pretty! Bring bug spray and sunscreen though

An absolute must do trail

On a road trip, my friend and I had decided to summit one of the Tetons rather than backpack in Yellowstone, so we had only one day to spend in this legendary park. We chose to see the geothermal vents and then do this waterfall loop. I definitely wasn’t disappointed with either. We hiked in the evening, and had the trail to ourselves; the sun set below the trees at the waterfall and under a colorfully streaked sky on our return we took in a herd of buffalo below us on the range. We also encountered a shy black bear. I can’t wait to get back to this magical place!
