This trail held by far the most beautiful views I have ever seen with my own eyes. It was amazing to walk through Titcomb Basin and see the mountains towering over you. However, it would have gotten 5 stars had the Alltrails map not gotten us completely lost at quite a few points on this trail. Going to Cook Lakes was a disaster and we spent a good 2 or 3 hours bush whacking, completely confused. The trail has a bad habit of disappearing for up to a mile or so. That being said, definitely bring a good paper map of the area (as if that's not always the way to go). Spectacular trail, I didn't even really mind being so lost because of how amazing everything always was around me. Spent a week here and loved every minute!

Great trail. Stunning views.

You can not access the trail that this app leads you to. It is impossible. There is another way to access the Lafayette Lake but not via this trailhead.

Amazing views, moderate hike, Island lake is beautiful especially the inlet which carved a beautiful deep line into the granite almost like a slot canyon.

My wife and I only had a few hours to spend in Pinedale, so we decided to take the first 4-5 miles of this trail out to Photographer’s Point. It was time very well spent. The views aren’t easily described and I can only imagine the reward of hiking well on into the Winds. We will certainly be back when time permits. Trail notes: easy and gently sloping but quite wet with snowmelt and mud. The portion we completed could easily be ascended in less than 2 hours with dry conditions.

We drove to the coordinates and couldn't find any sign of the trail. There's a nordic training area nearby so something probably exists for skiiers in winter (the sign said no hikers).

This trail is down a dirt road by the Half Moon Lake Lodge. When we went the road up to the trailhead was closed to vehicles so we parked by the lodge and walked. The wildflowers and butterflies were out and I saw a redtail hawk circling overhead. The trail goes alongside the lake for a while before branching away. We turned back just before a flooded meadow. A really pretty hike! Lots of boulders, pine trees, bushes, and flowers.

So many good views. The trail is easy to follow and not obscured. Moderate and gentle inclines/declines. You pass a good amount of water so if you can treat it, you don't need to pack it in. Plenty of places for camping.

Insane views the entire hike. Distance is more like ~12.5 miles one way.

It was an adventure! Cool beautiful beaver damn/lake. Hike was good for as far as we got - a skunk chased us, tail in the air, rear end facing us. We ran like hell! I think the skunk was protecting it's young. We waited a while and tried passing again but the skunk came after us again. We left!

We were going to attempt this hike in June of 2017, but signs indicated "no foot traffic allowed" Nordic skiing only.

Our Family has been camping at New Fork for as long as I can remember. It is great to see that I can now add one of my favorite trails to my list. The trailhead from the upper parking lot is where most start, but there is one from the camp ground that merges together about a mile later. I used the campground trail. A lot of get spots to stop and camp along this trail. A great trail to take if you are looking for a 3 day pack.

I combined this trail along with the old High-line trail now the Continental Divide trail for a long loop out from the Boulder Creek Trail-head.

Covered this trail early in the season on the way to Cook Lakes back in 1981 . Because of high water just past Pole Creek Lake we didn't dare cross Pole Creek. While we were deciding a couple of horses crossed and the water was up past their bellies. That decided it for us so we followed the river for about a mile before we could cross and continue to Cook Lakes.

This is an amazing loop passing many beautiful lakes with great view of the mountains along the continental divide. Take your time and spent 5 days. Be sure to stop at the Big Drop slide near the Freemont river crossing
