not a lot of clear markings, but groomed well amd beautiful with the autumn colors. good amount of shade, quite a bit of soft/sandy parts of trail also.

Was a great time with just me and my dog. Trails were well marked and lots of places to rest and take in the great scenery.

True mountain hiking trail. Combination of challenging elevations, excellent trail guidance at key turns and crossroads. Huge boulder outcroppings make amazing photo ops, or even a perfect picnic with a view.

not enough markers to show the main path... lots of little side paths. lots of loose material, and steep areas.

Nature trips

One of my favorite trails in Casper for an “easy” hike/walk. It’s a beautiful 3 mile loop along the base of Casper mountain. There’s scenic views the entire trip. Very leisure if you’re looking for something simple and super pretty! Note that there is no shade unless it’s a cloudy day so do bring water with you as it can be a hot trail! Do watch for cows! It is open range so keep your distance and you’ll be fine!

HikingGreat!

Love this trail! Just over 3.5 miles and I think accurately “moderate”. You have fairly steady incline to the top of the trail where there’s an amazing overlook of Casper, WY and then a nice steady decline the rest of the trail back down. I highly recommend bringing plenty of water as it does get pretty hot with no shade in some areas, but otherwise it’s a nice mixture of forest/shade and open trail. Amazing views all along the way for sure!

My buddy and I went on a Sunday afternoon. The parking lot was pretty full. Despite that, we didn't experience too many people on the trail. It was pretty steep on a few sections of the trail, but must most of the trail was fine. It did get pretty sandy in spots. Some mountain bikers were struggling with the sandy trail. The overlooks on each mountain side were very cool. There were plenty of other spots to see good b views without having to go all the way up to the main two overlooks. There was a stream up towards the top of the trail where my dog stopped to rest and drink water. It's great that it's so close to Casper. What a great park in a city's backyard.

pretty good trail. saw one snake. there is a lot of cow poo and bugs. the rocks are not great on the ankles. the way we went was mostly uphill so might go the other way next time. will definitely do it again with better shoes.

We hiked the loop clockwise, but either way you will have a climb to start! Fun trail with lots of little sites along the way. Small falls, fairy garden, split rock and many view points. And the falls are always amazing. Great trail.
