Hiked this in October. Gorgeous views and we were the only people in the drainage. While we didn't find a trail due to snow, the orienteering was incredible easy and the Brookies were biting flies. We exited via the hypotenuse.

I only went part of the way to Dad's Lake on the Freemont Trail from the Big Sandy Trailhead. It's kind of just a walk through the trees until about 3.5 miles, and then you are in a beautiful meadow with wildflowers and great views of the mountains. I suspect that Dad's Lake is more than 10.8 miles RT from the traihead, because I turned around at 4.5 miles. According to the map, there was quite a ways to go still at that point. This hike is the first part of longer hikes into the Bridger Wilderness, i.e., the hike to Dream Lake and beyond.

We missed trail to clear lake but that was Ok cause there was a connector trail from Black Joe trail to clear lake. Beautiful alpine scenery, Did this trail clockwise and glad we did cause trail down ravine past Miller lake was very steep. If you want to follow trail to Clear Lake you must hug trail to stream after crossing stream at end of Big Sandy Lake. Nice area to base camp also.

took my children into dads lake and out in one day. It was a very well maintained trail that was easy to walk with the kids. Beautiful views the entire way in and out.

AWESOME

Great hike, do this hike on a cooler day. Be prepared for weather. This is not an easy trail by no means, most people take horses up.

Good trail to a beautiful lake with amazing views. Went past the end of the trail along the side of the Lake. Wished I could have gone into the upper basin above the lake. Be sure to take a side trail to a saddle a little below the lake for a great view of Haystack and Temple peaks.

Hiked this at the end of a multi-day trip with a base camp on Big Sandy Lake. Maps didn't show a trail but because of such high use found a trail about 2/3 of the way to the lake coming up the ridge near the river drainage from the lake. Small beautiful lake that is less heavily used than Big Sandy

Hiked this as part of an extended trip from Big Sandy Lake and made the Temple Lake part of a loop. Between Clear Lake and Deep Lake the trail goes over granite with multiple rock cairns marking several paths but it doesn't matter because its above timberline and you just follow the stream or granite up to the lake. Coming down between Rapid Lake and Big Sandy again because of multiple trails we lost the correct trail and camp down an extremely steep trail that wasn't the correct trail so be careful picking your way. The Forest service doesn't maintain the trail from Temple-Miller-Rapid-Big Sandy lake trail. The trail does not appear on some maps but does appear on Topo Maps.

Nice trail that I used on the return from Big Sandy Lake. Passed V Lake, Diamond Lake and Meeks lake. Beautiful meadows and trees around all lakes with view of the mountains in the distance.
