What a hike! Ran into a bear along the trail so make sure you have a can or 2 of spray just in case. Lot of snow on the ground last summer for this one but the frozen lake with the white mountain backgrounds made for an amazing sight. It was such a beautiful hike on the way back down as well walking right back between the Tetons. It's almost surreal.

Went counterclockwise starting at String Lake. Took my fiancé and I about 10 hours with multiple breaks. First 6 miles are nice and easy. Once you break through the tree line, things get rough as it’s a massive elevation gain quickly. Careful on the switchbacks as there are snow banks that are on the slope. I advise using trekking poles. After Lake Solitude, the hike is simple but LONG. Views from the counterclockwise path are stunning. I suggest doing it this way if you think you can handle the incline! Also, wait until you’re acclimated to Altitude before attempting. My fiancé has been very sick ever since the hike. I accredit this to the 4,000 ft of elevation gain that happens so quickly! Enjoy!

Amazing view of the Teton at the top! We saw mountain goats at the top. On the huckleberry trail, we saw a bear w her cub and a moose. We started at 6:50am and finished in 11 hours. This is an extremely long and arduous trail - prepare thy thighs!! I drank about 1.5 L of water. You’ll need plenty of snacks, sunscreen and perseverance.

Excellent. Went up the face trail which I loved a ton even though it’s steep, came down huckleberry . Took 6 hours at a good pace with rests at natural stopping points. The summit of table rock itself is sketchy at best: very windy, very cold, very steep and slippery, and when I came in mid September there was some muddy and snowy patches. View is amazing and trail moderately maintained. Saw a moose with calf on the last two miles of huckleberry in a clearing. Also tip don’t eat the chokecherries they are not huckleberries that was my mistake.

I hikes Table rock yesterday, this is my first time doing this hike in the fall, usually I hike it it July and August. The weather was very nice, you had to keep moving to be warm, and once you were hiking for a while it would get too warm you'd have to take your coat off. Not too many wild flowers left, the Tetons were too foggy to be able to seen. Looking through the valleys were still very pretty, I did see a mamma Moose and her little one. I recommend doing this hike in the summer, but if you are up this way, and are debating doing it, do it, still worth it.

This is my favorite hike in Teton valley Idaho it’s beautiful on the Darby end to look out over the valley especially in the fall the colors are amazing. I lead a group of 50 girls ages 11-16 on this hike in all experience levels they all made it pretty good except about 4 who thought they might die.

I take off the chicha. It is very steep and there are many stones. But it was worth it. It's very cold when you reach the top of the mountain. He wears a lot of water and a jacket, gloves and a hat because the wind is very barbaric.

awesome hike, not too difficult at all coming up. took a little less than four hours up.

Pack a light backpack and go fast! We did it in 9 hours, with a decent lunch break and two significant rests clockwise. The Cascade up to Solitude is fast and smooth due to the great quality of the trail. After Solitude and especially after the Divide, things get more wild. Even though you're on a trail, there's some scree on the highest part of the Paintbrush canyon. The rest of Paintbrush just has a wilder feel to it, and not as cozily maintained as Cascade. All in all, a classic hike!

This is a busy trail, especially on the weekend. Start the hike early (sunrise) if you want to have a few moments by yourself at the top! Long and hard, but so worth it!

On Aug 28, climbed up the face trail and down Huckleberry. 11 miles total. Lots of wildflowers, meadows and Aspen groves. Awesome views for most of the hike, and especially at/near the top. The Face trail takes persistence, but was not as hard as I anticipated. The Huckleberry trail down was very scenic. Took us 8.5 hours, including a full hour at the top and lots of photo stops.

Did Huckleberry trail both directions. I would recommend to take the Face trail up. Worth every star it got. Gorgeous hike. Still wildflowers in early September.

Good trail, very lightly trafficked single track with moderate steepness and elevation. Excellent panorama views of the 5 Tetons from a head on angle and views of Teton valley and Grand Targhee resort behind you. I would personally recommend going all the way up the ridge line to beard mountain. This portion traverses a comfortable ridge line with mountain meadows and views of cliffs. When you get to the high point the views are some of the best in the Tetons.

Loved this hike! Its not too difficult, except that it’s long. It’s about 14 miles from the Jenny Lake boat dock, which is no joke! Also you’ve gotta go all the way because Lake Solitude is incredible and makes the whole hike worth it!! Having lunch at the lake was one of the highlights of Jackson Hole. We saw one moose and lots of chipmunks. Gotta keep your eyes peeled!

Truly, this is a 5-star hike! Face Trail on the way up, North Trail/Huckleberry on the way down; 4 hours 47 min. round trip but we were definitely cruising on the way down. Steep/quick ascent initially; opens to wildflower filled meadows almost the entire way up. View from the top is worth every step. You're eye-level with, or above, most of the surrounding peaks, with the Tetons towering to the right. Way down provides more dramatic scenery, wildflowers, meadows, huckleberries, streams, and wildlife. Partially shaded and wooded. There are campsites all over the place near the trailhead. *Longer than stated; portions are overgrown; scramble; wildlife; LOTS of rock to traverse; watch your footing. GREAT HIKE!

excellent trail. and the cave is one of the coolest I've ever been through. just be ready for some tight spaces.

Hardest hike of my life. It ended up being 24 miles and it was amazing :) the views you cannot beat. We saw lots of wildlife as well. Super cool but hard.

Great hike. Hard to give it 5 stars because of the crowds, although they did make me feels safer in grizzly country. Saw a mama and her two cubs about a mile below the lake on my way back down. They spent about 2-3 minutes on the trail and then wandered off. I ran a lot of the trail and was solo so I was bit nervous at times with the sharp turns and switchbacks but there were enough other people on the trail on the way back down that I didnt see any other wildlife. Did about 30 min of the trail up to paintbrush divide from the lake which gives a spectacular view down to the lake and of the surrounding mountains. Definitely get up there, the grade is not as bad as it looks. Gorgeous hike, well maintained trail. Hot the whole way up. You come out of the trees and don’t get any relief. Bring sunscreen and a hat for sure. I did both and still managed to get burnt.

Absolutely stunning hike. Did Face Trail up and Huckleberry trail back down. Started at 8am and finished at 2pm with a 30 min break at the top of Table Mountain. First two miles are steep! Perfect to get the legs and lungs pumping. Stunning views of the canyon and gorgeous meadows with aspen groves. After 2.5 miles it flattens out and the view of Table Mountain appears in the distance. From there it’s a beautiful, open expanse on a rocky trail up to the top. Views of the Tetons from the top are unrivaled. Feels like you’re floating up with the Grand! The Huckleberry route back offers lovely canyon views looking back up at Table Mountain, more groves of mature aspens, huckleberry bushes and multiple river crossings. A fantastic hike!!
