Beginning of trail is a nice walk in the woods. Forest is quite dense so visibility in early September is not very far. Views of lakes are nice but shores are quite overgrown. Trails by lakes have been cut and are about 20’ wide on the entire walk back to parking lot. About half the way. I would rate it Easy.

Great trail, wide paths, nicely maintained. I’ve been here several different weekends and it is not very crowded. A number of different loop lengths that intersect. We usually end up doing the blue trail and then switching to green to make up a ~6.5 mike loop.

Nice wide trails, dog friendly (please pick up after them) great views and plenty of wild life. Moderate terrain. Only downfall for me is no dogs allowed on the trails in winter when cross country skiing is going on. Too bad for me:(

nice change in elevation but a little too wide of a trail for my liking.

Nice hike. A bit much for us just starting out the season. Seemed like way more than 3 miles lol. Nice views of the lake. Probably will be much prettier when the trees all leaf out.

The under 2-mile purple loop is relaxing and easy. Lots of benches along the way.

Nordic trail loops offer many options for length and difficulty, up to 9.2 miles...all options are well marked and very scenic. Best enjoyed during off peak times as it is quite heavily used on weekends. These trails are NOT OPEN to hikers when snow covered.

Oops. Ment to hit four stars. A very pretty hike in fall with lots of wildfoul and colorful foliage.

Clearly marked. Try to do some of the blue trail for lots of trail lined with pine trees.

Purple loop. Then red loop. Clear markings. Wide trails.

Some nice big kettles on the US 12 side of the hike. will be great in those as the leaves turn. long views of the land below. trail generally takes the high line. nice on either end with elevation and more challenging trail. flat and wide in the middle.

nice wide trails. I use these trails for great trail running! also very nice for hiking. It's very quite don't see many people at all on weekdays and goes miles deep into the Kettle Moraine forest. Lots of ups and downs. pretty well maintained. There is a pretty big parking lot. The amenities are nice with bathrooms and water.

Great hiking, moderate hills, well marked trails.

The hike was easy and also very enjoyable. There was a nice little 'beach' area off the trail. Will definitely do again with my dog.

We really like the trail. Unfortunately the DNR has not maintained the trail this summer! The trail has not been mowed all summer making the trial and benches virtually unusable. All they have to do is mow the trails and it would be 5 stars!

Had a nice hike on this trail today. It was a good start to the hiking season.

I live here, I would say that it is probably more interesting if you change your route slightly and ride State Park Rd between Whitewater and Rice Lakes. Also, there is an impossible hill to climb if you ride Engel Rd north to south, so make sure you do it south to north. There's another hill on the east side of Whitewater Lake that's quite a climb, but the seasoned cyclist should have no trouble.

The 9 mile blue loop is excellent - lots of undulating hills with some challenging climbs in the black rated section of 1-2 miles. Great for trail running.

Hiked the Blue until Marker 7 then followed Green, didtsnve of 7.5 miles. Wide trail. clear and large plantation pine setting. Plenty of long sloping hills for a total gain of 800 feet in the 7.5 miles.
We'll marked.
Trail head with plenty of parking, clean to let's. water and picnic tables.

The 9-mile blue loop of the Nordic Trail is my favorite hike in the area. Well, not so much in my area, because I live an hour south of the trail, but it is absolutely worth the drive. Nice varied scenery, a few hilly areas to provide some variety (and a little more effort), well-marked, well-maintained paths, and best of all, no biking allowed!

Nice trail, we'll marked with signs. Wide trail, as wide as 2 cars width most of the trail. Orange Trail yielded 2 spots with great Valley views. Moderate ups and downs.
