A family friendly trail! Not meant to be a real challenge. Some rewarding views. Walking along the lake is pleasant. Worth the visit! Just wish the tower was accessible

red trail backwards with detour from 3rd beach to 2nd beach.

A must see. I wouldn't mark this as "easy" because there is so much climbing involved. You can access the cliffs and shoreline from all parts of the trail both north and south of the parking lot. Head south and you connect with the interpretative trail at White Fish Dunes State Park and can go to the Nature Center. Pack a picnic and plan to spend some time at this little gem of a park!

We took the Clark Lake spur to see pink lady slippers in mud-June. Gorgeous trails. We were all alone. Green trail return to Nature Center.

Great trail system and awesome bay area views! Don't forget the bug spray, and make sure to download the park map from the DNR website because that has more of the nitty gritty trails in it.

I run through this park almost every day and every time, it’s even more beautiful than the last. There are great wooded trails to explore, hidden caves, eagle sightings and breathtaking sunsets with the bay view. Everyone says that Peninsula State Park is the best of Door County, but I disagree. This park is much better, not to mention less tourists!

Quick and scenic, Cave Point is free and has some of the best views of shallow cliffs along Lake Michigan. Constant wave action causes fractures and dissolution textures in this Silurian Dolomite. In winter, the cliffs have many icicles.

Well marked, nice trail.

Easy hike. VERY scenic. This is a great way to work up a sweat right before cooling off in the lake.

very fun hike with the kids. we found a sandy beach north of the county park in the state park with no rocks or big waves for the kids to wade in.

I love this place.

Fun hike for WI, I'm spoiled after being in some dunes out west

We have ridden almost every Rail Trail in the state but oddly enough never did this one until this August. It's a nice trail with lots of wildlife (we had cranes a few feet in front of us at times) and the North parking lot in Sturgeon bay is well more than average marked. There is enough loose gravel that road bikes would not be appropriate here...cross or mountain bikes would be best. A criticism we had was that there wasn't a single sign in the lot indicating where the trail started. it looked like it might start to the right, which we tried, and it led us right into Sturgeon bay and petered out. One sign in the parking lot pointing to the left would have made a load of difference.

Have been here a few times and loved it! One of few places I have been where there is "singing sand." Beautiful views from dunes.

Good forest trails, including one of the terminus points for the Ice Age Trail. Lots of rocks in the soil provide uneven trail tread, so plan on wearing hiking boots instead of gym shoes. Beautiful state park and forest.

Very well groomed

nice trail would be better if they did not allow horses. the trail is pretty bumpy and tore up a bit from horses walking on it wet..other than that its an easy 30 mile ride..

What a splendid park! The diversity of species is quite amazing. You can choose your trails (beginners, interm, advance...etc), have gone back already and will continue to as well!
