the white oak is a beautiful trail, a little wet after all the rain recently, but not so bad you can't hike it. mosquitos are pretty bad, but the hike it worth it. not too hard, but can be a work out, especially if you're keeping a good pace to keep the mosquitos off you. lol

A pair of short loops, one through forest and one through prairie. White Oak Nature Trail is wide two-track dirt trail that loops through the northern-most part of the park. Signs along the trail identify some Indian mounds, but they would be hard to find without the signs. Bugs are very bad on this loop in the summer. Prairie Trail is gravel and takes you around a nice, large tallgrass prairie. I prefer the Prairie Trail loop despite the fact that it would be very hot on a sunny day. Overall, a nice pair of loops.
