Easy uphill trail that ends with a beautiful view of the Wisconsin farm land at the top! Perfect picnic spot. Would recommend bug spray if you visit during summer months.

My absolute favorite. So beautiful, so serene.

Beautiful. Easy hike. Great views. A bit Icey and muddy this past week.

Beautiful trail; on Mar 18 2018 the trail was filled heavily with mud and parts with a light covering of ice.

Parked and walked the Ice Age trail to Gilbrater Rock then down to the parking lot. We took the road back to the Ice Age Trail parking lot. Beautiful hike in every way.

Alltrails has this one wrong. Light traffic? There were so many people there cars were making their own parking spots. The view was stunning!

Really nice--really long easy trail head for hikers with limitations. Once beyond this point, be prepared to rock hop through the actual glen.

This was a nice hike. Our kids enjoyed it (keep a close eye on little ones at the top). Definitely opt for the forest trail instead of the paved path. Cool lookout views at the top and on some side trails along the way.

I really adore this trail, it is beyond what I expect,we went with the hike it baby group and enjoyed the wild flowers, butterfly and the waterfalls was gorgeous, the trail is moderate for new beginners, wear sandals or water proof hiking boots , bring hiking poles as you will need them to climb the boulders, parking gets fully pretty quick try to be there before 10am during the week, I was disappointed to see the bathing in that bed condition. But everything looked amazing in that trail

Beautiful Views!!

The trail is beautiful, but it also has a relatively high traffic. You won't find complete solice, but the views make it worth it.

Amazing! One of the best hikes I have done. We went after a rain storm and had to do a bit of jumping on rocks to get to the end. If you look up at the end you will see a way to go from the creek to the ridge above it. You can then walk on a trail above the waterfall on your way back for a different angle.

Underrated, definitely worth checking out.

Fun easy hike with great views! So many people take the paved path up, don't make that mistake, the beautiful well maintained hike through the woods is wonderful!

One of the best trails I've been on!

Short hike for a beautiful view, highly recommended

Start at the Merrimac ferry south shore parking lot (1). The trail head is marked by yellow blazes. After a brief segment between rail tracks and the road, the trail crosses the road and start climbing in ernest. Filtered view of Lake Wisconsin through trees. A winding trail through woods leads to Slack Rd parking lot (2). From here one has to do some road hiking on Slack Rd and County V to Gibraltar Rock park; fortunately the traffic is light. Once at Gibraltar Rock park lot (3), it's a longish hike to the cliffs with sweeping views of the rolling hills to the south. Continue the trail to the west parking lot (4). That's 4.6 miles one way. Backtrack.

Do this a few times every year!

With today's cold snap the glen is full of ice falls! The creek and waterfall itself is still unfrozen and flowing (waterproof boots!), but numerous icicles and ice sheets grew from the rock walls. Really neat.

It was fun but it was basically all up hill and then after walking 2 miles. We had to turn around at the end and walk back down hill. But I did see a cardinal and four white tailed deer so that was pretty cool.

Not really an easy hike due to the elevation change. It was enjoyable.

Ample parking and a restroom at the trail head. The trail follows the creek for the whole length. The trail goes from paved surface to easy dirt road to moderate rock scrambling and creek fording after the "end maintained trail" sign. Waterproof boots and poles will help. Very interesting narrow deep gorge. Huge rock blocks fell from cliffs. The cliff exposes layers of pink quartzite pebbles in between sandstone. The trail ends at a low waterfall. Great golden fall colors.

It's a pretty hike, but I would say far from hard.

Neat little area. You wouldn't expect this sort of terrain from the parking lot. The lot is small, but there seemed to always be room for at least a couple of cars. If you go bushwhacking, be sure to wear pants, the stinging nettle can be vicious.
