Great place to go when you have a little time to kill...

The woods were great. A muddy trip it was March though. We did encounter three off leash large dogs that charged us on our walk. So that was awful for myself and my leashed dogs. I would hike it again but because there were many people walking unleashed dogs on the trail I'll leave mine home next time.

went here a couple of weeks ago, love it ! Easy and fun

Large parking lot - easy trails for the family

Love this hike. Nice any time of year. Hiked about five miles of relatively easy trails. Some water - a stream, Springs, and ponds. Plenty of birds. Some climbing if you like that. Great hike right in town with restaurants nearby if you need to refuel. Good for running and biking too.

The parking lot was just about empty when I pulled in on one of the first nice days of late winter/early spring. I was excited about that, but it should have been my first clue. I loaded up a trail map, knowing other reviews had said the trails are poorly marked. “How bad could it be?” I thought. Well I wasn’t expecting everything to be covered in a thick layer of melting snow and ice (there was almost no snow left anywhere else in town). I looked down at my gym shoes but figured I’d give it a try. I walk up to one trailhead and see “no walking on trails!” Well that’s a first. Went up to another and it says “wrong way.” Okay... clearly a trail system for xc skis. No worries - it’s a big park and I’m sure I’ll find something. Finally came to a point where I found the original trail I was trying to find (at its halfway point, where it crosses). Beautiful trail but covered in a slippery, icy mess; nearly fell off the hill a few times. Made it down thinking the rest of the trail would be okay, but it led me back to that original point of “no walking.” I tried circumnavigating the rest of the front part of the park but could not find anything worth walking on. Part of the problem was the icy/melting conditions that I was not expecting, but a huge factor was the very confusing layout. I’d try again on a dry, warm day, but today I’m disappointed.

scenic area, lots of good restaurants and shops if you want to stop in downtown Racine

The Bugline trek started in May 2017 and is still continuing throughout the seasons. It was my first railroad trail I've hiked on. I will always remember my first! Overall, the condition is excellent, the views are awesome (guy stuff if you like quarries) and piece & quiet are so inner, self- healing.

During the winter hike, the temp was rather cold, but right across from the Cop Shop / Fire Station in Lannon is Mibb's & Viv's. Friday fish fries are very good, reasonably priced and so are the Margaritas. YUM.

This quick hike is nice if you only have five minutes or so want want tot hike in the shade. The longer hikes that branch off from the picnic area loop are much more fun if you have the time! Want distance? Park at the YMCA in Kimberly, hike the CE trail to the trailhead for the Don Fries Recreational Area off the CE trail, make a look inside the Don Fries/Memorial Park, and return back via the CE trail to the Y!

Easy hike, very touristy, Nice walking on the Lake Michigan and on the small stream down through the park. One of our favorite parks in Milwaukee.

Nice trails; not marked terribly well. I ended up on the frisbee golf course, which was sub-optimal. If it wasn’t so close to my house I wouldn’t go back, but it’s good enough to revisit, when considering the proximity.

Nice easy hike near town

Beautiful walk in October. Marked a little strange got off on a road then a trail that went no where but pretty none the less.

Beautiful place for kids, beautiful waterfall! Peaceful place for hiking!

Beautiful trails! Saw bear tracks in the snow!

We just finished the Wingra Woods portion of the trail with the kids. Pretty easy walking, great scenery, and we even saw some turkeys. I could see the mosquitoes being bad in the summer, but it’s perfect in the fall.

This is an unusual run in that you spend several miles down in the engineered Honey Creek depression. This is a concrete spillway of sorts that I guess is the path of Honey Creek. It's a bit steep getting down and up but nothing too difficult. A few road crossings as well. Something different, give it a go.

a favorite close to home local spot.

Beautiful, flat paved trail to walk along near the water.

This is a wonderful park, we will return. Very well maintained trails! Lots of trails and options for hiking. Picnic tables along trails for lunch, activity areas for play, and a dog park. A great place to spend all day!

My husband and I enjoyed a walking through the woods. Can't wait to back and explore more.

Absolutely loved this hike, so far it is my favorite. I like that there are not large groomed paths.

If you're not following the river you're on the wrong trail! This is a beautiful hike past a golf course, along a river, and through the woods. Worth it to find the correct trail head.
