Really nice fall hike with my dog. Go there on a weekday in the morning to have the place to yourself and let dog Off-leash. The falls were very nice.

Made the trek from the boat launch to the falls, 3.6 miles round trip, and did the 178 steps at the falls to the overlook! Absolutely stunning views both of the falls and the overlook!

Beautiful! Just a little shorter hike than anticipated and was hoping for something more challenging. Great for a family outing or just to escape to a quiet beautiful place. Bring your swimsuit - you can cool off in the falls or in a couple quiet spots along the river. I’ll be going back for sure!

$13 permit.
Nice walk to the falls. You'll find some scenic overlooks along the way. Pet friendly. Moderate difficulty. But there are options for a higher intensity (uphill and downhill) if you cut through the woods (trail). Follow the signs to historic graveyard for a higher intensity trail.

Parking areas are very small for how popular this trail is. The River Road lot looked to only have 3 spaces. The County A lot had about 30 spaces. We had to turn back unfortunately.

First off, $13 parking fee. The park was under-construction so there were areas of the trail that were inaccessible. The landscape was gorgeous. Didn’t make it to the falls but it seemed busy coming from that direction.

Felt like more of a walk than a hike. Either super sunny or all shade and bugs. Some steep hills which is a good challenge but since it’s all graded felt more like a walk than a hike. The falls were great to see though but PACKED with people swimming and lounging. I’d suggest a weekday.

Ok for a short morning walk the falls are pretty but can be very crowded because there's a parking lot nearby letting people access the falls easily without hiking in.

Did this hike over the winter months and it was a decent trail—not at all difficult. The waterfall is gorgeous and I would love to come back in the fall. I think the trails are very well suited to Nordic skiing, which I would also like to come back and do.

There are a few steep hills but nothing crazy. Mostly out in the open, not a lot of shade and no water sources. Also the drawdown of the lake doesn’t leave you with great water views. But still a good hike.

If you go early in the morning on a weekday, it's very empty and peaceful. The later you go in the day, the more heavy traffic you will see. The waterfall is worth the walk. Beware of snakes, especially if you have little ones walking with you.

LOVE the waterfall and the scenic view points are great, especially the one at the top of the staircase. Easily a favorite and have visited many times.

great views from above and below, nice distance and elevation gains

5.8 mile hike. Well maintained trails. Excellent waterfall.

5/3/18 Peaceful hike. Runs along the river a little bit and has some quick elevation changes. There are lots of trees in the trail for shade, but a small strip without. You can get to the overlook easily, but if you go to the falls, there are a lot of stairs(unless you keep on the trail side). If you like climbing, there’s a cliff near the falls where there’s a climbing area. Definitely worth going to! :)

Very beautiful, peaceful and the waterfall was amazing. So worth the hike and great for dogs!!

Great fall hike – the colors were at their peak last weekend and we only saw a few people on the trail. If you do the whole loop, it ends up being 4.5 miles from the trailhead and you get to see the falls from the bottom and the top which is pretty neat. The hike is labeled moderate, but there are a few really steep hills that get your heart pumping!

Took the clockwise 6 mile route from the nature center with our 9 year old and our dog. The route had nice undulations with a couple of steeper ups and downs (with some loose gravel so we had to be careful going down). The falls were a real treat towards the end of the hike. The nature center area has a play area, picnic pavilion and bathrooms. .

Around this time of year (August) the weather gets kinda muggy and the weather is suitable for swimming. Lots and lots of people flood the waterfall and enjoy it's cool flowing water. Not very many people hike the trails so if you're into exploring it's the perfect time. The trails are well maintained. Definitely bring bug repellent while hiking little to no traffic hiking trails during low light periods.

Beautiful views. Wide trail, water fall views worth the trip.

Wonder day hike. Beautiful falls. Many trails at different levels.

Did the entire loop. Well marked nicely maintained trails, waterfall was filled with waders on this 90 degree Sunday. Didn't see anyone on the west trails. Short steep inclines gives you a bit of a workout. Overall easy (walk) hike.

Overall the trails were kept up and nice to walk on. Lots of small steep hills that are challenging. Not a ton of variety in terms of views on the trails, but it was a nice long hike. It's too bad the lake is no longer there. Pretty populated area with lots of great energy.

The Nelson Farm trail starts off very flat through beautiful plains. The hills are what I would call severe, not moderate, so be careful on that. The falls are beautiful but FULL of kids so it's not a relaxing experience. We saw many snakes and even a rattler so watch the ground
