A great trail to train. Nothing boring here. Elevation and scenery changes will keep your attention.

A great walking trail. Lots of different scenery.

Actually geocaching. Oldest/first WI geocache located near Powder Tower. Nice maintained trails. Families, kids and runners on the trails. Detailed trail map most helpful. PeoriaBill.

Hiked the Green loop with our 6 week old infant. Had no trouble. Nice trail runs by the lake, through Marsh, then prairie, and finishes through some woods. Some elevation, but nothing to serious.

Very runnable trail that’s good for training. Some wooded some grassy. If you go north you can connect to the Holy Hill Trail for more trees and hills. About medium technical in some places otherwise pretty smooth surface.

A good walk thru the Wisconsin country side. There are alot of segments that you have to follow roads or cut thru peoples yards or farm fields which detracts from the expierence.
It's great to climb the tower at powder hill in Pikes Lake and view the spires of Holy Hill, it really brings a sense of scale for how far you've come /have to go!
Bug spray is a good idea as is sun screen and a good beer or two

Nice hike which includes various habitats but there is too much time spent on paved surfaces. Staying on the Ice Age Trail instead of remaining on County K for so long makes for a longer but more interesting hike. Trail is very well marked with numerous benches dispersed along trail for taking breaks. Decent number of creeks and wetlands for dogs to stay hydrated.

Little sloppy this time of the year.

easy family hike

Good work out in every season

Went in October, super colorful in the fall. Was hard to find parking for trail. You have to park at the Holy Hill Church. Most of the trail has trail markers, not all parts of the trail though.

Very nice undulating elevation consistently throughout 5 mile loop.

Nice well marked trails through varied terrain of mature hardwood and fields. Natural kettle morain topography of hills and ridges finishing at Pike Lake.

Excellent hike. Went with my chesapeake bay retrieve. beautiful day for a hike.

Parked on Hwy 167 and took the yellow trail on the south side of the road. This is an easy trail. There is a steep climb to an optional lookout. We couldn't see anything due the tree coverage. It may be much more scenic when the leaves drop in the fall. The trail was narrow and heavily wooded and there were numerous other hikers on the trails. You could hear cars throughout a good portion of the trail and at 12:00 pm, the Basilica rang bells, which was neat. It wasn't my favorite trail of the summer but if you are looking for a nice easy walk, this is a great place for that.

Overall awesome hiking. Saw about a dozen people while actually on the trails. Only thing for improvement is that the trails aren't marked as well as they could be and the map is horrible. Dog did well and was grateful that other hikers that had dogs were all on leashes!!!!

Nice wooded trail with a great view from the observation deck. I did this hike with my 11 year old son and we both really enjoyed it. A bonus is pike lake. Nice beach if you want to end with a swim.

Nice trail. Can see Holy Hill from the tower. Restrooms are available by the lake. Not paved so could be muddy if it's been raining.

parking area is a tad hard to find, but well marked!

We've hiked PL many times in all seasons and we always enjoy it. Hilly with nice, wide trails. Great for the dog too. And you're treated to great views at the top of the tower.

Beautiful! (It helped that it was 70 & sunny in April). We parked at Emerald Dr & hiked out & back from our car only about 2.5 miles, but this area offers a few more miles. Diverse scenery - pine forested area, prairie, a pretty bridge over the river. Even an easy access area for the dog to swim into the river. We really enjoyed it & will definitely be back to do more. Not hilly or challenging, just a nice, easy walk in nature.

Wide trails. Lots of people trail running. Pike Lake is a really popular spot so there were tons of people everywhere in the summer. The heavily forested parts of the trail are nice and so is the tower. It's an ok spot to spend some time in the woods, but if you are looking for quiet, maybe get further north into the Kettle Moraine where there are fewer people. During the winter time there are naturally a lot less people so if you are looking for a nice little winter hike this could be a good option.

Nice wide trails for a group to hike together on. There are a variety of difficulty levels to choose from. Right now the trails are pretty icy but you can hike on the ridge.

I hiked the southern most section of this trail (out and back between Hwy 167 and Donegal Rd) the third week of October. The fall colors were great, and I loved the trail. There were a lot of ups and down, and twists and turns in the trail which made it interesting. I also did each of the 3 spurs to the tops of kames. I included some walking on the grounds of the basilica and a climb to the top of the church spire which offered a wonderful view of the surrounding country side. The Ice Age Trail was well marked and there were at least a couple of benches and some nice scenic views, especially at the tops of the kames. I hiked on a weekday and only saw one trail runner and one other couple the entire hike (though Holy Hill itself was very crowded.) I would highly recommend the southern section. I can't comment on the section north of Hwy 167 since I haven't hiked it yet.

beautiful and peaceful trail
