Great section of trail. Well marked with some nice climbs and descents. One section had some standing water due to recent snow melt. Lots of varied terrain. I enjoyed this segment and will come back. Easy parking at the Emma Carlin trailhead lot.

Lots of hunters out - the gunshots were a little alarming. Conditions were chilly and there was some unavoidable mud and water on the trail. The map appears to be way off for a good portion of the trail. Fortunately the trail is well marked. The wooded areas are especially beautiful.

Pretty nice, minus all of the gunshots in the distance from the gun range... Accidentally found the Bradys rock area which was totally beautiful and full of moss. A nice overlook, some nice forest trails.

Easy trail to hike pretty wet today after all the rain we've had. Not much color change in the leaves yet.

Very well marked, clear, and super easy to follow. We got there around 10 and there were only a few cars in the parking lot and only ran into a few hikers and bikers along the route. The mosquitoes are intense in the beginning and end, there’s a large stagnant body of water that I assumes breeds super mosquitoes. They were relentless, wish we would’ve had bug spray, ran into one guy with a mesh net over his face, we were very jealous. We brought our dog an he loved it. Scenery is a lot of the same but definitely worth the trip up from Chicago. Can’t wait to explore more trails in Kettle Moraine!

Awesome hike, with moderate elevation changes. You can do the full loop which is around 7 miles or take other trails to shorten it. I can’t wait to see this trail in the fall.

did the orange lap and one segment of the connector. two puddles. warm and muggy.

My recording showed this green line path is 7.7 miles instead of 6.4 Miles as listed. It is a single lane unpaved sharing with the incoming bikers so be extremely careful. It really helped with safety when the trail has clearly defined the different directions for hikers and bikers.

My husband and I really liked this trail. It was heavily wooded and peaceful.

Nice trail. Mostly winding through the woods so not a lot of sights to see. As others have said it’s pretty narrow at times and mountain bikers shake the trail. I didn’t find this to be an issue because there weren’t many people when I went.

Beautiful trail walk today.

Fun trail with lots of elevation change. My trip on the orange trail amounted to 5.5 miles. A decent amount of switchbacks and not a lot of flat land. As many have stated it's single file and also mostly under tree cover. The bugs weren't too bad and I enjoyed my hike here. There were two spots on the trail I wasn't sure where to go but both times I chose the path on the right. Happy I discovered this place and want to try the other trails in the area!

There are a lot of cyclists on the trails, so beware for those that come to hike with small children &/or pets. Pretty pleasant hike overall, a lot of bugs, so bring bug spray during the summer.

good trail, well maintained. bring lots of bug spray!

nice hike, closed for bikes, which was nice

Excellent views... nicely groomed

Great trail! Many of the trail systems in this part of the state are gradual incline/decline (more like a rolling hill) - this had some really nice and quick elevation gains/losses, gullies, lots of switchbacks, beautiful nature views, as well as a good amount of wildlife. As some have said, it's narrow much of the way - single file - but there areas that open up a little more. I typically like to sit and relax, and have a bit to eat before getting back into the car to leave - and the picnic benches aren't shaded - no biggy, but some might find that helpful to know. If hiking - the trails are marked perfectly fine most of the way - until the LAST 1/4 of the orange loop. If biking - it would be the FIRST 1/4. (they go in opposite directions) That last/first bit of the trail can be a little confusing.

Short easy trail, and it’s a really pretty view of the water. Only downfall is no dogs

Did just part of this trail from the parking area to Body Rocks and back. Best part is the open meadow area between the wooded sections. The view from the trail is better than the marked lookout so, although it's a very short side trail, don't bother.. We also followed the offshoot that was supposed to go to the natural spring(s) but it was so overgrown we just turned back. Wide variety of wild flowers the whole way.
