Hartman Creek might be a zoo in the summer but you’ll be alone on the Ice Age Trail

Highly recommend if you’re into trail running because it offers good elevation gain! If you park on Hwy 54 you can run the Ice Age Trail to 2nd Ave then do the small loop section and head back, it’s 20 miles round trip. It’s brutal but fun!

Not a difficult hike at all. The trails are easy to navigate and well kept. Not a lot of bugs. Very pretty walk for sure.

Although I am a beginner I’m surprised this trail is marked as easy. It’s pretty narrow and cliffy at points.
Lots of chipmunks darting around and I could hear lots of things stirring about as well. Saw a large rabbit sitting in the middle of the trail. Took him awhile to yield to me haha. Very pretty views, will def explore again.

Scuppernog trail is one of my faves! so many different loops to choose from and multiple scenic overlook points. beautiful place!

One of the most scenic hikes in Janesville. Combine this with the arboretum and you have the most scenic 3 miles of the Ice Age Trail in janesville!

Enjoyed this on a hot day. Trail includes lots of shade and a few benches to rest. Nice that you can pick up and complete all or just portions of the trail.

Easy uphill trail that ends with a beautiful view of the Wisconsin farm land at the top! Perfect picnic spot. Would recommend bug spray if you visit during summer months.

A nice short walk with kids. Nice but not overwhelming variety of scenery.

Beautiful. Easy hike. Great views. A bit Icey and muddy this past week.

very clean, dog friendly, and even when there's a ton of people you don't see most of them.

Loved this trail! Beautiful scenic ride through heavily canopied trees and and also open areas overlooking farmland and beautiful countryside. It is a 12 mile trail one way, so it may be a bit much for beginners. If you’re looking to enjoy a day out on your bike this trail checks all the boxes!

Very easy but it steep for the final 1000 feet or so. Might need snowshoes after a fresh, heavy snowfall.

Beautiful trail; on Mar 18 2018 the trail was filled heavily with mud and parts with a light covering of ice.

Quick and scenic, Cave Point is free and has some of the best views of shallow cliffs along Lake Michigan. Constant wave action causes fractures and dissolution textures in this Silurian Dolomite. In winter, the cliffs have many icicles.

Easy trail between Devils staircase and a beautiful creek as you head toward JSOL. A cool fully shaded hike in summer.

Great views at every turn!

Large parking lot - easy trails for the family

Little sloppy this time of the year.

If you stay close to the water t he trail is awesome, there are some areas where you can cross the stream on rocks and trees. I have even seen some trout on the stream occasionally. Spring is a good time to go because the water is high and there are a lot less mosquitoes. The marked wide, wood chipped trail is very easy. 3 stars only because of mosquitoes.

The Bugline trek started in May 2017 and is still continuing throughout the seasons. It was my first railroad trail I've hiked on. I will always remember my first! Overall, the condition is excellent, the views are awesome (guy stuff if you like quarries) and piece & quiet are so inner, self- healing.

During the winter hike, the temp was rather cold, but right across from the Cop Shop / Fire Station in Lannon is Mibb's & Viv's. Friday fish fries are very good, reasonably priced and so are the Margaritas. YUM.

Nice hike on cold winter day. Some very steep sections that are slippery with snow or damp conditions. Great views.

Parked and walked the Ice Age trail to Gilbrater Rock then down to the parking lot. We took the road back to the Ice Age Trail parking lot. Beautiful hike in every way.

New path to the tower; nice views and family friendly

easy family hike

Hilly and gorgeous in the fall

Lush woods, gorgeous the entire way. The stream and falls were awesome. We hiked it on a 20 degree winter day with fresh snow. Stunning! Not a hard hike.
