Skiing here is awesome, and there are some fun short loops with a thrill! Hiking is great especially if you’re looking for long views of the town of Berry.

Quiet, serene, picturesque, abundant trails.

Nice hike on cold winter day. Some very steep sections that are slippery with snow or damp conditions. Great views.

Went in August. This place has wonderful trails and we took a beautiful hike around the lake. i would recommend it to anyone.

Be aware that a portion of the trail map (by the green arrow) is not accurate. The actual trail runs further east. See the photo of the map with the heat overlay I posted.

We loved this trail, it was a blast! The alligator in a bikini was chilling next to the trail.

We only got to see the boat lauch area. Plan on returning this fall to hike around the lake.

Glad I went - nice opportunity to get outside for a quick hike. Keep expectations low but it's always nice to get out into the woods whether it's 2 stars or 5 stars

The southern portion of the park trails are well shaded while the northern portion is mostly open. The lake didn't appear to be big enough for motor craft, but there is a small boat launch. My wife, our 10 mo, and myself made the trek around the lake. The paths were well defined and maintained. There was very little elevation change so it was pretty easy. We would recommend for a relaxed stroll. The info booth and new restrooms are still under construction.

Trail condition good. Not green yet but woolly bear was out. Found a deer skeleton within prescribed burn area.

Little trailhead nestled in-between two houses. But the steep climb up forested hill soon makes one forget how close the trail is to housing development. Soon arrive at a bench overlooking Cross Plains town. The trail then meanders through thick woods and open prairies with big sky. The northwest portion of the trail goes through some great examples of driftless terrain (unglaciated hills) with deep gullies. Complete the final portion of the loop by walking on local streets. There is no sidewalk, but also little traffic.

We went and check out this trail in the middle of February, the trail was pretty packed with snow and muddy . It was very unpleasant to be on that trail., parking is not a problem

Very neat trail. While none of the hills in Wisconsin is 'tall' in any sense, this one has good prominence. The south end starts on prairie, climbs up the bluff. Giant sandstone boulders and bare oak trees dot the ascent. The geology signs along the way are highly informative, even include a real stromatolite fossil -- and thanks for providing magnifying glasses! Once on top of the bluff, the trail follows a ridge line in the woods, passing through several view points and a couple ravines. The plant life seems to be diverse -- will have to come back in spring to check it out. There is somehow a most unusual cairn along the trail -- a crocodile statue. Note: the trails along the east foot of the bluff is private property (unlike the Alltrails map suggests). There is no facility. The trails is closed during the nine day gun deer season.

Well maintained trails. A few minor washouts on dirt portion but nothing major. Mosquitos are bothersome if you stop on trail. Basically the east portion of the park is forested hills with squirrels and woodpeckers, check out the chapel and lookout; the west portion is open meadow great for monarch butterfly watching and dog walking. The lake looks blue and nice.
