Loved this trail, the water areas are beautiful, easy to traverse. There is a “swamp trail” I’d recommend avoiding, but otherwise it’s great all around.

Loved this short walk! Beautiful mix of scenery and many different path options! Not many bugs early afternoon but I imagine they'll be much worse in a few weeks.

Completed on 5/27/2020. Great little loop. Parking lot is just a few hundred feet from where the falls are. Really great photo op and easy to hike around. Key points: Mosquitoes are in full force. Make sure you wear a mosquito net or LOTS of bug spray. I promise it will make your hike more enjoyable. Slippery jaggedy rocks. You’ll need good footwear especially if you want to get down close to the falls for pictures. Restroom building in the parking lot is closed until further notice. Plan ahead. Make sure you purchase a WI state park pass. You’ll be sent an email confirmation in which you can print out and display on your dash.

Beautiful trail - highly recommend. The woodchips that they put down in one section I thought was nice, but I did slip going downhill on them once. No biggy, and was happy with how wide & well maintained the trail was. Beautiful throughout the entire hike.

Nice boardwalk with interesting dune vegetation/good views of Lake Michigan. A bit of the boardwalk trail is flooded right now, but wearing my hiking sandals it wasn't a problem. Not too much wildlife present in the middle of the day, but I did hear a lot of birds singing. Walked the beach back to make a loop which was really nice - the water is so clear and I did see a big yellowish fish in the shallows. I don't have an annual pass so I parked for free on the street and walked in. Follow my instagram for more adventures @julie_journeys

Was not one of my favorites :( Trail readings were a bit confusing and not informative.

This is my go to hiking spot if I cant make it up near kewasukum. This section of trail is only 10 minutes from home, stop here couple days a week after work. some steep areas, but overall pretty easy going.

This is one of my favorite areas to hike, some inclines, nothing to crazy. However, if you are new to hiking/ backpacking it might be brutal. l park down at H and hike through to crooked lake regularly. It's what I do instead of going to a gym.

Flat, wide, well maintained trail. Stays shady so it’s perfect for a long walk or run.

Hiked from Division Rd. to Mauthe Lake parking lot, in and out. Excellent IAT section that features multiple terrains, kettles, vegetation, wild flowers and abundant tree species. Late May hike was early enough to avoid swarms of flies and mosquitos that can be an issue for this segment. A few low areas were soggy. Waterproof mids were sufficient to avoid wet feet. 3 man made foot bridges are in excellent shape to travel over the creeks. Overall one of my favorite day hikes in the Northern Kettle Moraine Forest.

Great trail for kids and strollers! Very flat even trail, no hills. Plenty of Indian mounds to view and educational signs you can read to your kids about the tribe would once called that area home.

beautiful memorial day run. no dead fall, nice rolling hills, some steep sections. bridge/pier across swampy area in poor repair on the south end, but passable... there is a brand new pair being built and looks almost done.

Really beautiful trail! Lightly trafficked so at times it’s a bit hard to follow and you’ll have to climb over some fallen trees but this just adds to the fun. Be warned around 7 miles the trail dead ends into a marsh where there was supposed to be a walking bridge but it hasn’t gotten around to being fixed. You’ll have to wade through it though. I just used a couple sticks to maintain balance, water only goes up to around 7 inches so it wasn’t bad. Other than that beautiful hike with a lot of remote walk-in campgrounds just off trail.

Not a bad hike, some spots have some spectacular views and the Indian mounds were very interesting. Be prepared for a steep climb! I recommend starting at the parking lot by the river, that way you're rewarded for your efforts with nice views. Trail was very buggy, and no amount of bug spray seemed to work. Also muddy and slippery in some spots.

Great hike. 6.5 miles. Flat. Stream. Tree covered. Very enjoyable

Great trail! And conditions were perfect today. Go about 1/4 mile further and there is a great lookout!!! All Trails should extend the hike a little

hiked this trail in afternoon. not bad little hot and some mud spots.

Spectacular hike! We picked it up at the intersection of HWY Q and HWY K. A beautiful forest leads you to the Oconomowoc River that follow for quite awhile. Even though it had rained the night before, the trail is so hard that it was barely muddy.

Wisconsin is not doing day passes currently, only annual passes that you have to buy online beforehand, so some pre planning is required. This was an enjoyable hike, the perfect length, secluded and the different terrains kept it interesting. The falls are definitely a highlight but also where it was most crowded. If you start this trail clockwise you’ll hit the falls pretty quickly into the hike and will encounter steep uphill climbs. Depending how tough you want your hike you can choose your starting direction. The inclines are slippery due to very loose gravel, shoes with good traction recommended. The overlook above the falls was closed seemingly for repair, sad we missed the views which are supposed to stunning. Will be back for sure!

I would not recommend right now. We are completely covered in mud!

Great trail. The lake and ponds are beautiful stops. Our dog also loved this one.
