Despite the bugs which are always a problem in the spring on all trails, I really enjoyed this trail. The river view and well kept trail made this an interesting hike. The elevation is a challenge, in my view not insurmountable.

My kid likes to play in the fluffy white sand at overhang where the waterfall is located. We go about once a year. Saw a rat snake last time, that was cool.

One of the better hikes in park. Mesquitos were horrible, but notwithstanding, a great scenic hike for the area.

This trail in Pikes Peak offers some of the best views of the Mississippi in Northeast Iowa. It's a very wooded covered trail that incorporates about 1/2 a mile of wooden steps up to a large rock and small waterfall called Bridal Veil Falls at the start of the hike. If you have bad knees or cannot climb stairs I would not do this trail. The rest of trail is beautiful and offers amazing quite views of the river and Indian Burial Mounds. On several occasions we have seen many deer and wildlife here.

This trail can only be accessed by starting on the Sentinel Ridge Trail or the Old Wagon Road Trail. This trail is seldom used and offers a reprieve from the more crowded areas of the park. The lower elevation portion along the Wisconsin River can get buggy during the spring and summer months. Unless you want a good uphill workout, I recommend hiking the trail from west-to-east, beginning by going down the switchbacks off of the Sentinel Ridge Trail. The incline coming up on the eastern end of the trail (where it connects to the Old Wagon Road Trail) is much more gradual.

Pretty loop with two very small trickling waterfalls and shallow sandstone caves. I preferred the sugar maple trail at wylusing

This trail is short, has lot to see with the falls and overlooks and it is less traveled. On the north end of the look their is an unofficial trail that continues north for a short distance to another overlook and on down to the valley floor if you want to pursue.

Starts at Look out point and heads south to River landing following the bluff, great views over the river valley in many areas. Steep in places. Midway you see Indian mounds, nice highlight of the trail. Also interesting they have a monument to the last passenger pigeon in Wisconsin at this site.

Nice hike to a couple bluff caves, one with a wet weather waterfall. Trail layed out well and would be easy for youth to hike.
