Gorgeous view, great photo op, and fun!

very quick, dramatic view

It's a great trail.
Posting are accurate on markers.

Take it easy going up if you arent used to walking up hills. The grade is gradual. The scenery is well worth it! If you go all the way around it does get rocky and close to the edge at some areas

Moderate loop that took us 2 hours on the dot to complete, with minor rest stops at the bluff tops. The lower leg (Tumbled Rocks Trail) offered a surprisingly cool landscape.

It was worth the 3 Hour drive. The snow and ice made more special.

This is an awesome hike. Took my 3 yr. old daughter and she did pretty well on the inclines (although it was slow going). Had her in the backpack for the hike out thru the woods. Views were great. Pretty busy even during the week in the fall.

Good trail. Nice scenery and fairly easy.

Very pretty trail. Didn't do the full course but planning on it. Went on a gorgeous day out & I loved how there was miniature waterfalls along the trails. Pure fresh cold water. Definitely going back.

Steep climb up CCC Trail and very steep decline among potholes Trail - beautiful scenery and view!

Favorite light hike to take my 5 year old on. Quite a few options to add a little distance to.

Crowded on weekends, especially in summer.

super busy. but good for Wisconsin

Amazing view

A bit of a challenge for some to reach the top ridge, but it is entirely worth. There are many memorial benches to sit and soak in the view.

Beautiful views along the whole trail-Would disagree that it is lightly trafficked, at least when I was there it was pretty people heavy.

My favorite hike at Devil's Lake, which is my favorite state park

If you haven't hiked this yet, you will not be disappointed. This is one of those trails that should be on your bucket list. Devil's Lake is the epitome of how beautiful wisconsin can be. This is a two hour drive for me to get to, but I give it a visit every year.

Fabulous view, gorgeous lake to see from up high

Largely paved trail with steep stairs at places. Clean and no obstacles. A series of purple quartzite cliffs offer excellent views toward part of Baraboo to the north, East bluff to the east, the moraine to the southeast, and Devils lake down below. On return took the Tumbled rock trail along the lake, nice talus fields.

Was very impressed with the trails here and amazing rock formations. Devils doorway is among the best in the area.

Great trails with scenic views of the forest and various rock formations that dominate the area. Trail is nice because it has an intersect and plenty of maps to make navigating the landmarks easy.

Went with kids after weekend in Dells. Great trails around an unspoiled lake (no motors).

For the overall lack of elevation gain in Wisconsin, this trail is perhaps the most redeeming. Its modest 450 feet gain is attained within a short distance -- resulting in excitingly steep quartzite steps. In addition, most of the trail is exposed with excellent views of the valley below, including Devils lake to the southwest, the terminal moraine plug to the south that formed the lake, and distant lake Wisconsin to the east. Main attractions along the trail include the balanced rock and the devils doorway, both delicate rock formations, and several potholes. Also look out for ancient ripple marks baked into the quartzite rocks. This is an extremely popular trail, be prepared to share it with literally bus loads of hikers during weekends. There are a lot of children and dogs, too. The quartzite steps can be slippery at places, and the trail tends to camouflage itself in talus fields. Young hikers should be closely supervised because of steep drop offs, but should otherwise have no difficulty completing the trail.
