Short, gorgeous hike. Would classify it more a moderate difficulty, just given how rocky it is and that there is a fair amount of climbing. It is also very slippery when wet.

Pretty and short hike. Grist Mill is very picturesque.

short interesting hike if your in the area worth the quick trip

Nice trail, I would rate it more moderate than easy though. Definitely wouldn’t bring my dog on this trail, but had an enjoyable hike nonetheless!

Started at the Mill. Fairly short but nice hike. Uphill and rocky. There are two wooden ladders in place and you climb through the rock. The second ladder was loose and slipped out. Check the placement. Not a fabulous view but the trail was short and view was good. Cool little rest hut at the top. We had a snack and talked to some nice people.

We parked near the wilderness trail. It was easy but a lot of trails to get to the views were grown over.

The rhododendrons and mountain laurel were all in bloom when I did this trail, so it was beautiful!

Our dog did just fine with us. Rocky, yes. But also has a lot of flat, and easy climbs. We did see some black snakes tho, due to the rocks. Just be careful.

I started at the Grist Mill and went up to the top and back down. I believe it’s about .5 up and .5 down. I think it is rated easy either due to the short length or because the one mapped above is the short version from the higher road. If you start from the mill, The trail is up and down; you are hiking some rocks and have to climb up through a rock. The park put out a wooden ladder at 2 spots. I definitely had my heart rate up at some points.

This is NOT an easy trail if you follow it all the way from bottom to top. Very rocky, lots of cliff edges, a couple of chicken ramps to climb up sheer rock faces...but so fun!

Fun short trail. There is some Little awkward ladders to climb so be prepared. You can always drive to the top of the hill and take the short hike

Very fun short trail

Starting from behind the mill gives you a steeper climb than if you start from the entrance off the road. The view was nice. Trail was overgrown when I went.

This trail was wonderful! It actually has two entrances, if you take the one behind the mill, it is a very interesting hike.

Short and sweet. Lots of Rhododendrons.

Friend and I hike this trail a while back. Even with the leaves gone the view is beautiful. Steady incline for the first part of the trail then FANTASTIC rocks around the base of the "island." Wrapping around the rock wall it gets a little funky but then once on top of the mountain it's perfectly flat!

Came to Babcock on a day trip with a friend and this was easily my favorite trail. Easy but fun climb up the mountain, and if you're someone who's into neat rocks and unique geologic features, Babcock State Park is and excellent choice.

This trail should probably have two difficulty ratings. From the road access, it is a remarkably easy walk with mild elevation changes. From the trailhead by the GristMill, it is a rocky, steep (fun!) climb. We took this trail to the Wilderness Trail, then down the Three Creeks Trail back to the road. Nice day hike with the kids!

We found this trail while at Glade Creek Gris Mill and we were pleasantly surprised at what a cool fun trail it was. a little steep at times but really pretty easy.

Continuing from the Island in the Sky trail across the road I walked the Wilderness Trail from the beginning to the other end. The trail was quite easy with no long or steep hills. There were a couple of downed trees but it was easy to get by them. Using a bike would be fine on this trail but be aware there are blind spots where trail users might be encountered with short sight distance. Also lots of leaves on the ground make for slippery slopes. I saw several deer. Upon reaching the end of the trail I did an about face and walked back to the Triple Creek Trail. The hills were a little steeper and footing was more hazardous but still was no problem. Several more deer were encountered on this trail, mainly toward the far end near the swimming pool. Upon reaching the road by the swimming pool parking lot I went to the right and the main road then took a left down hill toward Boley Lake. Walking down to the lake boat dock I began the Lake View Trail toward the right. The trail was not marked as frequently as the preceding trails but was still fairly easy to follow. In most cases the correct path is nearest the lake. I encountered some beaver activity near the big rocks at one end of the lake. Upon reaching the dam near the boat dock I walked down the spur trail to my right before crossing the dam. It was not marked at the beginning but I soon encountered an orange trail marker which denotes the Lake View Trail. This trail was mostly down hill from here and ended just inside the gate on the road just above the grist mill.

I know it's super short, but it was so much fun. There's a little bit of scrambling, and we went in the Fall so the colors were amazing. A great hike.

This trail has some very unique rocks along the way. The view is somewhat limited, but if you go past the shelter at the top there is a rock ledge where you can see somewhat better. This is a fun trail in a beautiful park.

Located in the beautiful Babcock State Park, the trailhead is near the Grist Mill. Rocky and steep in sections, but overall moderate in difficulty. Before making this trek, I had read about the great view at the top. When I arrived at the end, I was disappointed to see visibility was very limited due to trees in every direction. I couldn't see the river below or any of the surrounding mountains. It may not be like this from late fall to early spring, but I would not recommend it in the summer months.

This trail is alot of fun if you enjoy climbing around on some big boulders and rock faces. The trail is well maintained and at the time went the rhody's were in full bloom. It's a very scenic trail for all ages but it's pretty steep so watch the little ones! There's a new overlook at the top with a small shelter for a mountian view picnic.
