Pretty easy hike with a great view of the New River Gorge Bridge. Not crowed either!

on Kaymoor Trail

One of the most remarkable hikes I've ever been on. Don't be discouraged by the stairs.. the ruins at the bottom are amazing and so interesting to see. The buildings were abandoned in the 60s and are now inaccessible to go inside. The top of the trail is incredibly steep at times but it's so worth it. I can't wait to do this again, I love WV!

Easy walk with panoramic views of the bridge and the river at the end.

Our absolute favorite hike! It doesn't take too long to do and it's a fairly easy trail. Most of the more Moderate parts are towards the end. If you are in the area this trail is a must do!! We have been on this trail countless time, including a few bridge days! The view is stunning! Please remember to keep your dogs on a leash. We have encountered a few dogs who were not on leash, and our dog generally doesn't like other pups.

Great trail to just hike and enjoy the day. The view at the end is definitely worth the short hike. I’ve hiked it more times than I can count and look forward to going back.

Great trail but it was to slippery to continue down the rocky steps with my dog safely. But the snow made for some beautiful picture but it trail was very easy to find and parking with a restroom was about 50 yards from the trail head

Great trail with amazing views at the end!

Beautiful from start to finish and the park is always improving it. The views are something you'll wanna keep going back to see. The one and only downfall is it can get crowded sometimes so go on a work day and an odd time and you will get to enjoy it alot more

Great exercise and would only do this once only because you literally do a mountain of stairs only to end up in ruins and then u get to turn it around and walk all the back up a million flights of stairs. It was fun and a unique experience. But if you have dogs make sure they are capable of it bexause it's pretty intense. Hard is the perfect rating for this.

Not for the faint of heart (seriously, you need to be in decent cardio shape and at least slightly athletic)! Very cool historical trail - the mining ruins are pretty awesome especially on an overcast day. Wear good shoes as the trail is steep and easy to roll ankles on. And bring plenty of water. You’ll burn some serious calories if you go to the river and back. Overall pretty fun and you’ll feel majorly accomplished at the end.

Went here twice in the last couple months. It’s a great trail even in the snow (I thought it actually added a beautiful charm). Worth driving out to. Beautiful view at the end with a nice flat overlook spot so we brought some sandwiches and had a picnic.

Hiked it last weekend great trail with a even better view at the end

good easy walk awesome views

I am not in great shape but I’m adventurous and young so I went for it. So I’m a super beginner and didn’t listen to others on how difficult this was. It was daylight when I started and then by the time I finished it was completely dark

Great trail

Very wet, but it had been raining a ton. The dog liked the trail. Nice forest, but nothing spectacular.

Excellent view of the bridge at the end. Went on a rainy day and still had very little trouble on this trail. Excellent for a day hike.

I would rate the trail as mostly easy and just a couple areas of tree roots and some stationary rocks which made it a little uneven. I took my dogs along for the hike and it was very pleasant and enjoyable and the view was definitely worth it at the end. I would recommend it. And I would also go back for a quick trek. I would also say it's suitable for all age ranges.

We loved this trail! A fairly steep combination of slope, stairs, and rocky path takes you down to the first level of Kaymoor. Here you can explore buildings. A very long and winding staircase takes you down to the bottom level where the mining activity occurred. We were pressed for time and didn't go to the bottom. Warning, it is quite a lot of stairs to get down (and back up!) there! Well worth it.

Pretty steep area at the top of the 800 steps is more interesting than everything at the bottom. The bottoms all fenced off.

Enjoyed the trail. Short, but moderately hard. Keep going to river when trail ends. It's not too much further. Steep climb down and back up from river then the stairs! I slipped about 3 times climbing back up from the river. I would not recommend dogs on this trail due to cliffs and stairs. Waterfall was dry. Great time of year to go, not a lot of traffic. Cool mine ruins. Careful - I got lost for a few minutes because I climbed higher than the ruins, then I could not see them over the rocks. I loved the trail.

Great hike ! The view is amazing ! If your new to the trail and want to see the view stay to the left on the splits ... all trails will lead back around but if your looking for a on and out then stay to the left !

Nice hike amazing reward with views !

nice views of the river. the trail is flat and wide for easy walking. and the distance on the trail can be what you make it.

Trail was nice, the view is amazing. There was a bit of trash from fellow hikers which was a bit disappointing.

Easy with some elevation. Meets up with Long Point trail.

Well worth the easy walk to see that view! Well maintained path, easy for the most part, but has a few hills that will get your heart rate up!
