Great morning hike. It has some steep sections. Nice and shady until the very top. Very well marked.

My 11 year old son and I are both novice mountain bikers we took Old Roads Trail to the Holler Tail (Jeff’s Holler) to Old Fields Road Trail and tree in the Old Fields Loop. The trail was in great condition. There was a good mix of uphill and downhill. The entire ride was within both of our capabilities although there were some creek crossings that necessitated that we walk across because we couldn’t make the climb up the far bank. I would recommend the ride to anyone and look forward to doing it again.

This is a nice hike in the woods with a limited view at the top. It’s steep in places; a good training hike if that’s what you’re looking for.

Definitely was not expecting it to be as steep as it was, be sure to have plenty of water onhand! The overlook was pretty grown over (late July) but the trail itself was well demarcated.

Great surface but mostly a MTB trail. Could be rough if a lot of bikers are out. The name is actually Old FIELDS Trail.

Trailhead is on left before the picnic area. Park on the right next to a faded orange gait. This is a hike in the woods pretty much straight up the mountain. one nice vista near the top. The trail meets a gravel road at the top, no view. Good hike for the bliss of the walk, spring wildflowers and one nice view spot.

Loved this trail as well as Twin Pines, Old Holler, and others in this area!

Made a loop starting at Youngs nature trail, then to Black Bear Trail, finishing with old roads trail back to the trailhead. Made a great morning hike on a drizzly morning.

Stop at the ranger station at the trailhead to turn this into a loop instead of an out and back. Spectacular views. One of the overlooks has been cleared and is beautiful. Be prepared for the steep uphill. Water is essential.

This trail is in the Greenbrier State Forest and can be used as part of Kate's Mountain Loop. You travel essentially straight up the side of Kate's Mountain but neither myself nor my dog had too much trouble.

This was a tough hike (lots of steep downhill coming down) but my dog and I enjoyed it. I couldn't find either of the marked overlooks (heard they were overgrown) and the trail on the back side of the mountain doesn't have a sign like the others so I wasn't sure about the enterance for a while.
