I enjoyed this trail. Nice ridge hike with great views east and west. One developed, one not. Well marked. Rocky but steep areas have step work in rocks. No need to scramble. Think this hike would be great in winter

An easy, shaded hike that is well marked along the trees and at trail heads/meeting points. Recommend starting behind the lake/dam and follow the path!

Seemed almost manicured for most of the hike, nice hill and workout, but much much less wild than others in area. Not too difficult other than finding the blazes marking the trail.

Strenuous hike up, but manageable for older kids: 13, 11, and 7. We took the Ziler Loop Trail from the Batt Picnic Shelter where the trail is clearly marked. Even though we took the less direct route up, it was still strenuous; some rock outcroppings and fern gardens make the walk up interesting enough. We can down the Ziler Trail switchbacks and back to the Ziler Loop Trail. More rock outcroppings and a few water crossings made a fun downhill. Water crossings would likely be more than a trickle in spring. Overall a good hike.

Trail markings are confusing-used this app to stay on course- you are not only on Laurel and Ziler- but Central as well. The right side loop of Ziler going up was a good workout- only saw 5 people-pretty hike through woods.

Nice hike- straight up- took the loop to the left to come down. Thanks to Sedona to help me find the beginning of the trail- wouldn’t have found it without that description.

A beautiful hike if you don’t mind not knowing what trail your on. Even the park service is confused. Look at the trail markings. I’m so happy that we had AllTrails working.

no overlook, very wooden & steep. nice, but disappointing not having a view

Cute little trail. Some half views at the top. I wandered around beyond this trail as there are a few features and other trails around

Gorgeous hike, but a large section of it is overlooking a highway, and the noise pollution in January took away from the being able to feel truly immersed in nature.

varied terrain with a tough climb. nice scenery. challenging hike for the family, and marshy in spots. overall very nice

Great trail for a casual hike on a chilly fall day. Not very strenuous but still scenic - especially with the leaves changing color.

There is a Ziler Trail and a Ziler Loop Trail. The Ziler Trail goes basically straight up! At that point you can go left or right and it loops. The hike up is very steep with switch backs but really beautiful.

Definitely a workout on the way up! The trail is difficult to see in various spots so I actually used this app to get me back on course. Not a soul in sight. My only complaint is that there really is no view from the top. I had to go off the trail on the backside of the mountain through tall brush to get a good view. Would definitely recommend it though!

The direction gets confusing once you reach the beach house. Using a map may be helpful.

Brutal yet beautiful! Challenging hike to the top but a very nice, well maintained and clearly marked trail. The start and stop point could be better marked or described as both myself and another couple spent a decent amount of time trying to find the trail... so here is what I suggest. Follow directions per the map but once you get to the looped road where it shows you start drive just past the loop and park on the left- you’ll see a spot. From parking to trailhead- continue walking up the road to where it dead ends at a cabin and you will see the trail head sign on the right hand side as you approach the cabin. From here you can go either left or right as it is a looped trail. Besides a bit of initial confusion finding the trail- the hike was wonderful!

Not a very long trail, good for a short hike with moderate difficulty. Took maybe 25 mins for the whole loop. Kind of has a view of the mountains at the top but trees are in the way. It is a fun hike though, I've done it before and I'm sure I'll do it again.

We got on this trail near the fishing lake, so we didn’t do the whole thing. The trail is moderately rocky and a few parts are overgrown, but it’s very clearly marked with trail blazes and intersects with a few other trails. We enjoyed it.

This trail is NOT EASY. There is a lot of uphill, it’s very rocky, and the trails aren’t that well marked. Personally I don’t recommend it unless you’re ready for a 4-5 hour hike that is pretty strenuous. That said, it is a pretty area and we didn’t see anybody else on the trail. Again just don’t underestimate the difficulty of this trail. Also very buggy and ticky.

Great hike!
