If you plan on hiking to the lake, you’ll want to make a left once you’ve hit a fork in the trail. No signage telling you which way to the lake or pass, thankfully we ran into some people who let us know. Super easy to the lake, and absolutely gorgeous!

Just shy of the pass. Dog was tired and so was I. Beautiful where we stopped though. Wide open views.

Fantastic hike. The elevation gain is well distributed so even though you are going up 2000ft it doesn't feel steep at all

Awesome little hike with beautiful views of the waterfall. Getting down to the base of the largest waterfall is a little tricky, but doable. Lots of people on the trail today, but it didn’t feel crowded.

Nice easy trail with beautiful views, especially the 360 degree view at the top.

Beautiful hike up the mountain. Prior reviews covered it well. Lots of sun. Uphill to the summit, then easy down. The views were awesome. Very enjoyable day for this new hiker.

Great trail for little ones mine are 5 and 8. Lots of bikes in this trail so it gets a little crowded.

I'm sure it's gorgeous if you come at the right time of the day. Please don't waste your time if you are going to do this one in the afternoon. You will face directly west when you reach the lake, which means your photos are going to be backlitThe glares on the lake from sunshine just didn't look too appealing to me. I think lots of people do it as a side hike of Maple Pass. However I can totally see it being a very good SUNRISE spot - When you stand facing west to the lake and bells, the sun appears behind you, with the first rays of light hitting the top of the mountains

Lovely hike through the forest to a tiered waterfall My puppy enjoyed the cool dip Bonus was a swarm of butterflies. One butterfly buddy landed on my hand and stayed for quite a visit! Like our adventures on Facebook, “Apackof2 for the Road. Follow us on Twitter, “Apackof2fortheRd”

8/31/19 Nicely maintained beautiful trail. This trail is shared with many horses including the forest services' horses meaning you'll see lots of horse poop although it bothered me. We only sent to the top and came down instead of going all the way to the lake because the lake looked really dried up. We startes our hike at 9:30am and were back at the parking lot at 2:30pm with about 45 minutes of snackinging and beer drinking at the top. There were only about 10-15 people at the summit and the parking lot was full and about 10 cars parked on the street when we finished our hike (this is on a Saturday). We didn't see any wild animals other than chipmunks and small squirrels unfortunately. I would rate this hike as moderate rather than hard but the length of the hike probably gives it a rate of hard. Amazing hike with beautiful 360 degree view of the mountains at the top. Highly recommend.

Beautiful short overlook trail with incredible views! Like our adventures on Facebook: “Apackof2 for the Road” Follow us on Twitter: “Apackof2fortheRd”

Lovely and easy trail mostly open forest to Cutthroat Lake surrounded by mountains where my puppy could take a dip. Trail was dry and somewhat dusty. 1st creek crossing the water was so low you could walk across. 2nd creek crossing the water was dried up, just walk across the creek bed. Very low effort for a very high reward! We had the lake all to ourselves in the morning and it was so peaceful and absolutely gorgeous.

Paved trail. Fairly level - no elevation gain. Would be perfect for kids. The wall at the lake has fallen over so best not to walk on it. Very pretty lake and mountains surrounding.

Very nice easy trail, nicely shaded. Lake is definitely worth it.

After some of our other hikes this was just okay.
