Fantastic and steep trail. Was a quick run. Highlight was definitely jumping in the lake as a reward!

Largest earthen structure in WA state! Cool mining story and a must see trail!

Gorgeous trail. You get steep rock climbing, meadows, fields, desert and the best part was 6 huge bucks in velvet at the top!

honestly I give this hike a 5 star rating. I do agree that it ducks about the mosquitoes but it's nature! what do you expect? easy hike for anyone no matter the hiking experience in my opinion. beautiful view of the lakes. I went about two weeks ago on the 24th and the weather was just perfect. definitely recommend this if you want a nice easy hike. Little steep at the beginning but it does get a bit better.

Nice hike though quite steep in some areas. Excellent bathroom situation at the trailhead. Also there is a convenient drinking fountain to collect water.

I took my daughter and two of her friends (inexperienced backpackers) as well as two dogs. The hike in was very nice. The lake(s) are very beautiful. The campsite is nice as it overlooks the lake. We say a couple of people on day hikes, but otherwise we had the run of the place. I can't say enough how thick the mosquitoes were. They did go away after the sun went down, but otherwise they were thick and aggressive. Sometimes I would get a mouth full of them. I found myself covered in spray as well as layered up with anything that covered skin. I would give it 5 stars but for the bugs.

We were in and out in 2 hours. Pretty steep going up. Nice view at the lakes. Major down side... the mosquitoes!

Great short evening hike! It is also a great jumping off place to more intense hikes!

Take BUG SPRAY!!

Hard hike, but worth the trip. Lakes are crystal clear! Don’t forget you bug spray, mosquitoes were thick!

Beautiful view at the top!

Easy to get to and clear signage on the trail. The first mile is fairly steep with switchbacks but the trail is clear of debris and shaded by tall conifers. Both lakes are full and beautiful in color (take bug spray!). A good summer hike but I definitely want to go again during the fall while the larches are changing. Lots of people were camping, fishing, and day hiking with or without children and dogs. A good family hike!

Was a fun hike and very refreshing when you get to the lake. Beautiful!

Lake cara is bigger than lake Marion. Camped out for a day with about 8 other friends. If you’re planning on camping out make sure to take a blanket and a sleeping bag. Around this time it’s quite cold at night and the wind is a bit nippy. We did leave a bunch of gathered wood next to the campfire rocks on the northeast side of the lake.

Awesome hike, beautiful lake Clara makes the hike worth it. Perfect weather with light rain. Very popular trail, expect to see several people along the way.

good trail hike

... short hike and fully exposed but the incredible views of the Columbia River and a sprinkling of interesting rock outcrops , combined with several trails branching off to explore makes this a very worthwhile visit.

This trail is great for an early spring, lung expanding cardio workout, especially when you have been limited to the gym and machines all winter. It’s the path least traveled so going at your own speed will not be a problem.

Very short hike parts are steep but for the most part it's pretty easy. The view at the top is wonderful and because the hike doesnt take long you can do the others near by on the same day.

Very nice hike! Reward views all over the hike) no shade, so plan to hike at partly clouded skies. Will recommend hike boots or any toe protected shoes. Elevation gain at some points is pretty dramatic, and one hard place. Well maintained territory around. Dog friendly. Huge parking. There are a lot of small hikes on the way so keep track of your trail. With taking photos, stops, extra 0.6 miles of hike it took 2 hours to come back.

Still some patches of ice and snow. Pretty steep hike most of the way. Took about two hours. Lake is beautiful.

Oh very confusing route to the lake. Many different trails and roads that Intersect each other. Reservoir was very pretty but took us awhile and a GPS to find it.

This trail is excellent if you are seeking a nice workout/hike close to town. It’s one of the safer ones if you plan to hike alone as well. There are a few steep parts and the trail can get narrow up around the cliffs. I wouldn’t recommend bringing children younger than 8. I have ran into a few friendly horseback riders up there as well. I have also heard that during warm weather snakes are around the trail so watch where you step.

Beautfiul Views

Beautiful Trail but not well marked. Beautiful views of snow covered mountains and the Wenatchee valley the higher you go.

Beautiful views but Trail is an old Track Road and not in the best of shape. I understand it is soon scheduled for major upgrades in 2019. The trailhead facility itself was updated in the past several years. It is very nice. It has safe parking and a large covered picnic area.

I haven't really been up here since I was a boy so I thought it would be fun. The trailhead is unbelievably improved. Great loop. Great scenery. Lots of memories.

I love Saddlerock. It's my favorite local go to spot! Great year round. A lot of different trails. Dog friendly, which is a must for me! Terrain can be steep and loose, so be prepared. Good hiking shoes highly recommended.....
