This is a nice very moderate trail. Definitely an incline almost all the way up. Lots of beautiful green trees. The lake is very beautiful. Kids got there feet in but didn’t look clean enough for them to jump in. I recommend it. 05/30/20

Amazing hike.

Beautiful hike through the forest and a few wild flowers. There is a good incline to get your cardio going at the beginning then flattens out. It's a clear trail until it overlaps with another tail and there is no marker. Go left for the lakes. The lakes are beautiful blue and there is a little bit of snow still.

This was a decent hike, there were no signs/trail signs regarding which direction to go so we had to use our phones to find the right way. Trail was mainly a hard pack dirt road that cars and bikes can use. There are lots of biking trails so it might be easy to get lost for some. You cannot walk around the entire lake as there are no trespassing signs on both ends. But the lake is spectacular at the end, well worth the trip! Keep an eye out for bears! Hiked on 5/24/20

Well maintained easy trail. The views at Devils Spur are pretty awesome and if you keep going to Devils Gulch trailhead there are some amazing views as well.

Windy on the west side and lots of snakes. Start early and keep a weather eye out.

Have your map out the whole trail, very difficult to navigate the trail without the map. There are I think 2 different hikes that overlap at some points and some little detours that lead back to the trail but add unnecessary distance to your hike. Hiked 5/20/20 was EXTREMELY windy, which made that hike less enjoyable for sure. The wind slowed us down quite a bit and physically knocked our group mate to the ground. Came from the other side of the Cascades, so the scenery change was nice. Most of the trail looked the same, and we must have missed the huge flower bloom. There were about 1/4 of the flowers there from pictures taken 4 days earlier. I personally didn't start really enjoying it till you got closer to peak elevation and the trees and flowers started increasing. My other 2 group mates rated this a 4 start and enjoyed it more then I did.

This trail is worthwhile, it has some switchbacks, and flat areas.

Not shaded. Mainly a horse trail so deeply rutted at times and horse poop, though parts are a wide dirt road. Got a little lost trying to connect the trials so used the AllTrails app for help. Nice views!

Did this trail 5/16. Was a tiny bit a snow, but hiking boots were all that is needed. A bit muddy and slick at spots, so be careful. Most of the elevation gain is in the first mile; can be tough for those out of shape. Great hike through forest with a nice stream and valley of flowers on the way up. The lake is small but beautiful. definitely worth a trip!

Always a great quick hike to get in some exercise, bring lots of water and wear sunscreen not a lot of shade, easy for kiddos and animals!

Working on my physical endurance, this was a little difficult for me and I had to stop many times to rest. The views when you cross through the fence line and decend upon the saddle are breath taking and make it all worth while. Don’t give up, it’s worth it!

The first 0.5 mile was rough, but I’ve never been seriously hiking. Worth the beautiful lake views at the top. Perfect trail to bring a furry friend!

Average hike, nothing fancy but nice small lakes. Ran into a bit of snow and ice but nothing that needed snow shoes.

Loved this trail ! We saw mountain bikers who were all Nice and would let you know they were coming , people running and hiking ! Finished the whole loop . As someone said watch were your parking and don’t follow the maps directly from all trails for parking the actual parking is off canyon road . No fee to park or pass needed . We did hear couple rattle snakes but gentle rattle as we passed a brush area and we didn’t see the snake but never felt in danger just knew to not venture off trail . Bring plenty of water there is no shade and it got warm quick even in May . Pretty easy hike , it’s got some rolling hills and is very manageable to do .
