Unfortunately I did this trail on a very cloudy day. The hike up to the top was a bit strenuous for someone who isn't in great shape. Although the view was amazing it definitely would have been better on a sunny day. The trail itself was unremarkable. I doubt I'll do this one again but I am glad I did it once.

Easy hike/walk. Not crowded, but got there early. Beautiful waterfall-ish. Not crowded.

Fantastic trail , lots of snow the last mile !

This trail is very well-maintained. I went on a sunny but chilly Saturday morning and there were very few people on the trail. I ran and walked and it took about 2 hours to make a big loop.

Did it today and actually made it to the top! So beautiful, the whole entire climb! Will defineftly being doing it multiple times over the summer!

The trail was well maintained and moderately trafficked. There are some slippery roots near the creeks so use caution. The view is worth the switch backs that will make you wonder how much further. But the switch backs are only .75 or less miles depending on where you are at on them from the sign to turn toward the dome. Which is only .25 miles from that! Use caution with small children and the dome edges .

Quick drive from Seattle. The view is fantastic. Expect to see at least another twenty hikers at the lookout.

it starts getting quite enjoyable the further you travel as it’s more silent- not bad at all.

Nice beautiful lake and great for trail run.

Hiked this trail last night 04/18/2018. Ran into a black bear about a half mile from the intersection of 148th and 216th. Stopped walking and let him figure out where he wanted to go. He jumped into the woods and we continued by where he had been making sure to be loud. One restroom only at the main trailhead.

Went out on a Wednesday morning and the place was packed. Nice views and the waterfall was a treat! Only downside was all the traffic (I assume) due to the nearby Oregon trails being closed. Will definitely go back during summer.

Remember, no dogs!

Hiked it clockwise a few days ago with wife. We did it round trip, but last 1/8 mile was a scramble up a loose rock field, pulling ourselves up toward a railroad track by grabbing a rock outcropping on our right. Hike is not for the faint of heart - see link below. In hindsight, we should have hiked down to the top of the falls and returned the same way we came, which would have eliminated a long cliff hugging trail section which takes you close to the base of the falls and then back up to the parking area if you can navigate a steep scramble uphill at the end. If you look at the map provided on the Alltrails site, you will notice a gap in the “loop” - this gap is a a steep hard to ascend slope (fenced off at top) - we had to go past it to find a route to ascend to the parking lot. There was a fatality in late May 2017, due to a fall from this trail.

Easy trail with great views of the river. Good birdwatching, too.

Did this hike on 4-14-18. It rained the whole time, some of the trail was washed out but manageable. Tons of snow at the top which had me wishing I had brought my snowshoes. Overall a super beautiful hike, was surprised how many others braved the weather for it!

easy, little muddy today

Decent highly trafficked hike, parking area can reach capacity rather quickly. Trail is fairly wide and flat for the majority of the journey.

Great trail for hybrid hiking/trail running. Beautiful waterfalls, wasn’t too busy today. With spring rains there were no views but it was a fun hike with elevation. Some mud pits in high traffic areas but mostly in good condition. Will definitely be repeating in the summer to check out the views.

Steep. Wet. Worth it.

Went in the rain. Super wet trail. Lots of creeks and rock hopping to cross. Still a lot of snow towards the top which could be a tad slippery with some sink holes. Beautiful hike nonetheless

Fun and easy. great views

Easy trail, sign said it was washed out but it wasnt bad. Id recomend other trails in this area.

Great trail, easy, nothing too difficult. Great views of the lake. Ive never hiked in the area so this was very nice surprise, the Trees and vegetation, plus the wildlife made it perfect. Very little mud, but bring shoes with grip. $10 per day for parking, dogs on leash. Moderate trail for younger kids, but worth it. On the north side trail there was a sign for aggressive owl but didnt see it. If you take the trail clockwise the inclines are easier

Urban oasis. Expect fellow hikers, beautiful spots overlooking the river!

Beautiful hike! It's a pretty intense few miles up to the summit of Hamilton Mountain with beautiful views along the way and a nice variety of scenery. It was rainy and windy today when we climbed it, so I can't say much about the view at the top, but the trail itself was great. We were surprised to find a little snow at the top, but not too much! Looking forward to trying it again on a sunny day!

Amazing! This is a must do. The experience is great. It can be a little rough once you reach the rocks, but the top is so totally worth it. Moderate is a great description of this trail, depending on conditioning, and can be challenging at spots for some. The top is worth it!!

Amazing views! So many falls! Not super hard or crazy, depending on your conditioning, but definitely worth it!

I really liked the difficulty of the hike and that almost no one was there, even on a sunny, warm day. I can let my dog off and really enjoy myself. I only went up about 2.5 miles but it was a perfect first hike of the year. I will definitely return because of the difficulty, lack of people and close proximity to my home.
It was a little muddy but it rained several days in a row before I hiked.
