paved, great for strollers and kids

Easy hike, tons of places to take the kids to play in the water. Awesome waterfall. Definitely a must see!

Totally too easy of a “hike” but very beautiful with the river and falls!

2 stars because of the hype, the parking situation and the crowds. I thought this would be much more beautiful than advertised. It's basically an urban flat trail through the woods with a smallish waterfall at the end. Parking is insane! So many people. We kept going to Denny Creek for a longer hike. It's probably a nice small hike for families with little kids, but watch out for them going off trail (this is easy to do) and getting into the poison ivy or the devil's club.

The views from the trail were gorgeous the river is stunning! Super busy but it didn’t take from the stunning view and experience down at the base of the falls. We took wagon road trail back and didn’t see a single soul; the forest hike was wonderful!!

super easy hike with beautiful falls at the end, great on a hot day with kids.

We got to the parking lot at 7:30am and it was about halfway full. Bring bug spray! They immediately started biting at the start of the trail.

Easy hike that took us about 30 minutes to the Falls and 30 minutes back to the car. We decided not to cut to Wagon but we might consider it the next time we visit. Parking lot was 3/4’s of the way full by 8:30am.

Bathrooms at the start of the trail are little rough, so we decided to stop by at a nearby gas station afterwards.

Great kid trail. Get there before 9 am to get a parking spot in the lot, its a very popular trail. Easy hike until the the last 20 feet I could see the rocks being too slippery for some. Take the Wagon Road trail back to the parking lot for a less crowded trail.

Easy and short hike. If you take West summit exit of I90, then the drive to this trailhead is blooming with wild flowers right now and has great scenic views. This was our 2nd time hiking this trail. We hiked once during winters when the road to trailhead was closed to vehicles, and hence the hike was much longer. But right now it is easy 2 miles roundtrip from the trailhead. There were trees providing shade throughout the trail, so no sun or heat. You can also hear water/ creek all through the hike and some break in trees to get sneak views of creek. The waterfall at the end is nice.

Please note we only did the tunnel portion of the trail which is around 5+ miles round trip. This is a great option for the heat sensitive or for those who don’t like doing elevations.
The tunnel is a cool experience. Speaking of cool, the tunnel is a great way to beat the summer heat. If you get cold easily, be sure to bring a sweatshirt or windbreaker. Also, you’ll want a flashlight.

Starting on the Hyak side you’ll be able to feel the cool air as you near the entrance. The trail is not paved but is hard pack. There are dripping areas so there are some puddles along the way. Once you reach the other end there are some tables, a small waterfall, some nice views, and a toilet facility.

On the way back you’re walking with the breeze so it will feel a lot warmer. It u get warm u can stop for a minute and enjoy the breeze.

As a reminder, you will need.a discover pass. We forgot so used our phone and bought one online. Luckily there was a good signal. Hours are 6a - Dusk.

One of the best hikes. Mirror lake was absolutely gorgeous and felt great to swim! Hiked around on the PCT and found a beautiful clearing with a waterfall!

This is not a trail

Great for kids, short and easy with a great view at the end!

Did this trail yesterday(07/22/2018), and it is an easy trail in good condition. The waterfall is great.

loved this trail very beautiful my husband and I went with our 3 kids walked the Franklin trail to the falls and the wagon trail back to the care.

nice easy trail with beautiful views)

Great for toddlers

Hiked 7/15/18. The trail was a little confusing. When you get to the point where you have to go left or right and it looks like right is washed out, go right - you can see the trail continue just beyond the trees. Views were okay, but don't think I'd do this one again.

*only went as far as the end of the tunnel not the end of the trail 5.4 mi r/t 100 elevation I believe*
Very easy to walk but very boring. At least 10 times I asked my boyfriend if we should turn around. We were told that it was worth it to walk to the other side of the tunnel, there is a small waterfall and a mountain range, we are currently sitting on the benches dreading the walk back. It took us 1 hour to get though the tunnel. In my opinion there is nothing to see, my suggestion is walk about 10 minutes in (for the experience) then turn around and do another trail, unless you like the blank solitude.

Great views. Quite a few stairs. Wagon road trail will also get you to the falls with different views (forest vs rivers) but when coming back to the parking lot seemed easier so maybe doing the loop the opposite way (wagon road to the falls and the franklin falls back to the car) would be easier for someone with any knee issues.

Pretty lake. Easy hike, lots of roots but the trail is easy to follow.

This is a short but pretty steep hike to two Beutiful lakes. The trail is well marked. Parking was a little challenging as there were quite a lot of cars around 11:00 AM. There were a lot of people in the lake but we managed to find a spot and swim a little. Crocks would have been helpful as there are stones on the bottom of the lake and it's pretty painful to step on them. Bugs were terrible and they seemed impervious to our bug spray.

Amazing! Great hike to go on after leg day at the gym ;) awesome couples hike

Great for little kids. Trail is well kept. Parking can be a challenge even during the weekdays.

Beautiful hike. Lots of little streams and cool looking tree stumps. The hike in was mostly up hill.
