The trail is really a one mile loop. Should be labeled Gold Creek Pond Loop. It’s beautiful and stroller friendly. The other part of the distance is just a road, unless I missed something.

Breathtaking 360 degree views at the top of the mountains and Rainier!! Stunning and awesome leg workout going up!

I wasn’t expecting how tough the last 1.5 miles were. There were a few snow patches near the top when you would want poles or spikes, but I’d imagine it to melt within the next few weeks. I went pretty slow and the whole hike took a bit over 6 hours. Went the day after it rained and there were several muddy spots and a few shallow streams you had to walk through. Definitely being your boots.

Trail is open. Good to go. Only did the first lake. No snow.

Such a remarkable hike and waterfall at the end! We hiked end of May and water was a little cold, but still walked in the water in the sandals.

Amazing hike! Lots of friendly people. My 2-year-old was struggling at the end with the stairs but it was mostly easy for her!

Trail is open!! Parking lot is open!! Bathrooms are closed- no porta potties, no trash cans. Mosquitoes are out for blood!!

The beginning of the trail is groomed and pretty wide. The last mile or half is a lot of snow so moved a little slower then. The lake is beautiful half of it is still frozen over.

Trail was in good shape, but was bustling and busy with kids, families and non-hiker types, even on a cloudy/rainy day. The trail follows the creek and leads down to the falls, which is a great view. But, you can also take an off shoot trail (marked on the AllTrails map) and get up above the falls. We took the wagon road trail back and made it a loop. It was scenic and there were less people so I'd recommend it.

The beginning of this hike confused us. It's literally a paved road with houses along the side, maybe it's a good snowshoe in the winter? Regardless, we drove up the road and parked at the regular Franklin falls Trailhead. Trail was in good shape, slightly busy with kids, families and non-hiker types, even on a cloudy/rainy day. Hiked up Denny creek trail to the first waterfall. Loved it the whole way, definitely coming back to camp when it’s open and hot!

We just did this hike on Friday and it was SO crowded. If you are high risk for covid, I suggest staying away from this trail because there were crowds everywhere and kids getting right up next to you. It felt more like a zoo than a peaceful hike.

Very pretty. Busy road most of the way. Little people due to rain.

Is this trail open for hiking? I’m a bit confused to see reviews posted a week ago but the page says it’s closed. I was interested in going tomorrow but wanted to double check.

Ok this was a bit tougher for me for the uphill areas but overall a great hike. Family loved it and all the little side stops to see the water

Great hike! Arrived at 7 and there were already 10-15 cars there. By the time I left at 11, well over 50 cars, so it’s getting quite a lot of visitors. The trail up after the split to Mason Lake is pretty darn steep, right up the side of the mountain. No snow until after that steep part when it becomes more wooded. Snow wasn’t too bad, actually was harder coming down rather than going up. There were a couple of small snow areas the trail had to cross. Decided to try to make it to the actual summit, dropped down from the false one and headed that direction. No sign of a trail, just 5 feet of snow with no boot path. Gave it a little bit of a go but with all that snow, mostly just waking into tree branches. So just turned around and enjoyed the view from the false summit. Beautiful views and rainier is with you most of the way up in the distance. All in all a great hike with a nice steep challenge.

Great quick hike. A little muddy on some parts. As of today, the restrooms are closed so plan ahead. The water at the falls is still strong and high so you can’t really go down but good sights overall
