Lots of mushrooms on the trail. The chicken met me at the trail head.

A very peaceful trail, in good condition. Start earlier in the day because by 3:30 it was pretty dark in the dense areas. I agree with Rich, take the trail clockwise. Definitely the better choice.

Nice, easy trail through the trees. Slight incline on the way out. There are a couple of nice viewpoints to see the ocean. A little muddy, but not too bad for this time of year.

HikingGreat!

Nice, easy trail through some peaceful forest. I went clockwise, and I'm glad I did it that way. The uphill is more staged and moderate than going counterclockwise. When I hit the Aerospace Road, I walked eastward for about three-eights of a mile and missed the first connecting trail because there is no marker. But there is a sign across the road from the second connecting trail, at the junction of the Fireweed Trail and the Aerospace Road. From there, it's nearly all downhill, sometimes steep, which is why I'm glad I went clockwise. Took one hour and fifteen minutes. Encountered two groups on horseback, a couple of hikers with dogs, and a foursome of mountain bikers. Everybody very friendly. The trail is in great condition. Not much mud. Occasional horse deposits. No bugs this time of year.

Great trail and beach for dogs! Some of the forks didn’t have signs so check the All Trails map for guidance.

The woodland views were alright, but it was the magical entrance to the hidden beach that was the real treat!

Such a gorgeous forest walk that leads to a beautiful beach. We saw no hikers as we went to the beach and about 6 in total returning. No biting bugs out there!

HikingGreat!

Awesome, easy trail for beginners leading down to a secluded rocky beach. Trail was well marked throughout and down towards the beach path the trail gets a bit narrow, but it was beautiful! Passed 4 people on the way there and had the entire beach to myself.

Paths are well marked and kept, but there aren’t many vistas. Beautiful changes of scenery on the different trails

I lost the trail a couple of times, but the app got me right back on track. It was a nice walk in the woods, my 7lb Toy Poodle crushed it (though she is resting quietly tonight).

Nice trail and well kept. Didn’t hate the part on the gravel road or reconnecting with the trail, but a great trail all the same. 3.2 miles is maybe more accurate.

This is a nice out and back. Trailhead was a little odd to find according to the directions via this app. Great trail for an easy walk. I would not consider this a moderate trail. I believe its more aligned with an easy trail. Perhaps the length of the trail would be the only thing that could be moderate, but it's an easy hike on a clear day.

This trail is not that well marked as you move away from the trailhead. This is quite likely due to the network of trails that weave in and out of this trail. There are some signs but I relied heavily on the app to keep on track. This is a beautiful trail with a wide variety of wildflowers. There is a bit of overgrowth on parts of the trail where the path becomes single file when walking with others We saw no one for the first hour or so and after that we saw a total of 6 others. I would do this again in spring as I am sure the rhododendrons would be gorgeous in bloom. PS. Use bug repellant!

Walking

easy hike but with initial ups. easy for kids and dogs but i give the trail a solid meh.... I took 2 kids and 2 dogs. it was an OK hike. not much to see but a nice walk in the woods. about half to a third of the hike is on roads. we went clockwise from the trailhead at the parking lot. the signage was good until it wasn't. there are signs marking west loop and east loop. signage good on the west but poor to no exisitent on the east side. we had the app and the kids navigated using when we were off route. the trail near sign post b is not marked. if it is your first time and you are on the crushed rock road and you find yourself wondering where the trail went when going clockwise walk on the crushed rock to the sign post b look northwest and you will see a spur trail which will lead you back onto the red all trails track.
