Beautiful peaceful escape in the middle of city

Worth the drive out for a relaxing beautiful run. You can run easily and enjoy the views or go all out. Recommended for a “recovery run”

nice in summer after dinner

I’ve been utilizing this trail for over 15 years and not bored with it yet. There are so many areas to access the trail that one could possibly hike/walk for several days straight and never cover the same area twice. This is a great trail if your training to run or walk a marathon. Only drawbacks are that it is very flat (if your looking for a bit of a workout) and high traffic including cyclists. 15 mph signs are posted for cyclists, but almost completely disregarded.

beautiful surprise great for weddings

I still have yet to make it into the city on this track but definitely great for checking off miles!

Nice stroll, not too far and easy.

Best on clear days when you can see Mt Rainier hovering over Lake Washington.

Little muddy when we went in June. Beautiful views. Reflections in the water were amazing! Loved all the lilypads. Doesn’t feel like you’re in the middle of the city.

2018/09/08 Saturday (Hiking Date). Good 3 Mile Walk around the lake. Paved road throughout the trail and beautiful lake. Kids play area and rest rooms at multiple points. Best place to spend time walking together as family.

More of a nature walk than a hike, although there are some (very short) steep portions of the trail. Nice little jaunt through the trees near Alaska Junction!

beautiful park, not so crowded in the morning of a weekday. many pretty dogs, some unpicked dog poo poo though.

Love going for long runs on this trail

8/12/2018 (Sunday) -- Flat easy loop with awesome lake view around wetland and "Kite Hill" for 1 to 1.5 hours in a dry, warm, cloudy day. Very pleasant.

You can never go wrong with a stroll along the beach. Loved this.

Seward Park is one of my favorite places in Seattle. Love it.

More of a nature walk. All the same it was gorgeous. And we had a grand ol time. Went with my three kids: 6,4,1

This was definitely more of a walk than a hike. It was stroller friendly and just a great outing for me and my three kids (ages 5,3,1)

The great intersection of this city. Yes it’s crowded but it’s still beautiful and a great place to walk/run/bike/skate/swim and get some exercise. Makes for good people watching and there’s always something going on. If you want to go someplace to connect with the energy of the city, this is the place!

this is a great urban riding paved type trail.

I’m a new hiker and not in the best shape so I was hoping for a bit more signage or clearly marked trails. A friend and I took large paths and as we were walking and taking turns the trail would eventually disappear or lead to fenced off areas. We had to turn around and loop back a few times. I’ve never found a super well cleared trail down to the beach only some cinderblock stairs that lead to the back of the parking lot. The beach has great views and you can have a lot of fun after a light walk.

it's what you'd expect of an urban trail.. lots of people, especially bicyclists, but the trail is quite wide, features a nice view of the bridge and the water and Gas Works Park is a neat park all on its own, featuring views of the Seattle skyline and is a great place to end.

Awesome, took the trail from Bothell to Matthews park. Very nice ride, beautiful views of the water from the trail and parks along the way.

It’s more like a garden walk then a hike. It was nice and low key to just get out of the house.

Easy, great people watching and beautiful for sunsets, meeting friends and an easy place to get a little space in the big city

This was a beautiful, scenic muddy disaster. Come prepared to slog through some deep mud. We weren’t. The end result is my wife and my dog and I were covered in mud. He thought that was great. Us not so much.
